Is this suirable to store acid 20% in it?

Depends on the acid. Hydrochloric, Sulfuric, Acetic, Oxalic, Hydrofluoric? You're probably fine. Nitric? Better not.

Are these clear or a solid white?

How can you see the liquid level if they solid white?

is this suitable for storing alcohol in?

No, sadly they are not: I tried storing some cider in them, and it spoiled. I found that they can happily store vinegar....

Could this be used for petrol?

They're HDPE, which is the same material that plastic petrol containers are made from, so I would think it would work, but there are other regulations regarding storage (colour coding, labelling requirements) that mean that they're not really suitable.

Screw Caps don't tighten very well

A great product and a good price, but I couldn't get the tops to tighten up. They were for hand wash, so not the end of the world and a piece of duct tape sorted it - but you should be able to tighten it enough for transport
