Yes it distorts unless kept parallel, and as I am generously proportioned in front it only sits at an angle when suspended from my neck - maybe its meant for a man! Flimsy in the extreme and the magnifying is made possible by the maker having applied a sheet of something, which clearly didnt apply flat at the first attempt so mine has lines and marks like watermarks on a glass where it was repositioned. Pay a little more and get something better, dont bother with this!After several weeks of struggling with this its going to the thrift shop.
