The Dark Wild: Book 2 (The Last Wild Trilogy)

Just finished the second novel and am loving the trilogy... I'm a girl of 13 whose mum got me the first of the 3 books about a week ago and I have already finished the second. I love the series! I love the way it expresses the points of view of animals and how they try to solve the problems they have, caused by humans, some using the help of a boy while others believe they can do it on their own. I am a nature lover and you don't know how much I would love to be able to talk to animals! My favourite of the two I've read so far is the second because of the Iris Capsule. It's a book loaded with adventure and I simply couldn't put it down.

I love this series. I'm a school librarian and teacher so I read lots of children's book. This book should be read by adults and children a like as it has a message running through it about what we are doing to our planet. I think the way it is written is very clever; from the point of view of a child and the animals he rescues. It is extremely poinient and I felt myself caring for the animals and feeling quite emotional when any were lost. I would say this is a book that is aimed at upper ks2 to read independently or younger if being read to. I enjoyed this slightly more than the first book as the place was quicker. I've started book three already I'm engaged. Highly recommend.

A truly great read, my daughter loves The Last Wild too. They are imaginative, fast paced and thought provoking but also perfect for age group in content. Her class teacher is also reading it aloud and the kids love it.

A great adventure to read, really entertaining and absorbing. Would recommend this to anyone with creativity. Was really interesting. Could be slightly less... Dramatic, is the only word for it. I think it needs to be slightly less teenagery.

My daughter aged 10 years absolutely loved this book. She thought it was very adventurous and can't wait to read the next one.

My son has started reading this trilogy and loved it so much I am going to order the prequel for him.

I think it's the best! It's a very powerful story of loyalty and friendship. It's a dark story that doesn't spare its punches and has you gripped right to the last word. I can't recommending it enough.

Great story. My 10 year old daughter loved this and continued to read the rest of the trilogy.
