Would buy again ✨✨✨✨✨
I’ve used this gold paint on a few DIY projects around the house, and it’s made the furniture pieces I painted really stand out with a classy, expensive look. It dries quickly, has great quality, and the consistency is just right—not too thick or too runny. Really impressed

Good value paint - For brush painting only
I bought both metallic gold and metallic silver DecoArt paints with the intention of trying them on a skateboard deck paint project for my grandson. I already had some acrylics from the Vallejo range, but the DecoArt paints are a great price, so I thought they’d be worth a try - possibly through an airbrush. Prior to using them in anger though, I thought it best to try them out thoroughly first. Here are my views Brush painting: The DecoArt metallics brush on really well. They are of very thick consistency, similar to PVA adhesive, flow well when using a good quality brush and give excellent coverage. Drying time, like all acrylics, is fast and can be speeded up with the gentle use of a hairdryer. Cleaning up is easy, requiring water only, or water with a drop of dish detergent. Although they are ‘metallic’ colours, the end result is more of a sheen with no visible metallic particles as you’d normally expect to see. The finish is nice though and these paints would be ideal for a multitude of crafting projects Airbrushing: In fairness these are not described as being suitable for airbrush application, but a few people had asked the question, so to answer those with an interest, including me, I gave it a try. Well the answer in my experience was a resounding NO. As mentioned already, these paints are very thick, requiring substantial thinning to get them to the right viscosity for airbrushing. My first attempt was with Tamiya acrylic thinners in an Iwata airbrush with a 0.35 needle/nozzle, but the result was dreadful. The paint clumped into stringy glue like chains which blocked the airbrush nozzle instantly. After stripping and cleaning the airbrush, for my second attempt I tried thinning with isopropyl alcohol with similar results. For the third effort I tried thinning the paint with straight distilled water. This time, there was no adverse reaction and it was possible to spray the thinned mixture, but it had required so much thinning to dilute sufficiently to spray that it wouldn’t cover. I had similar problems with 0.6 and 1.0 needle nozzles too. I hope that’s answered the airbrushing question adequately - PLEASE DON’T, unless you really enjoy stripping down airbrushes. There it is in a nutshell. Perfectly good paint for brush painting, and for that it gets a deserved 4 stars. Just don’t run it through an airbrush. Every product I review is one I have purchased myself. I rely on unbiased reviews when making shopping choices so that’s exactly what you’ll get from me. Not a very bright or realistic gold
I have a 48 tube acrylic paint set from Castle Arts that includes gold. It is sensationally good. I was hoping that this would be up to that level but it is dull by comparison I am afraid.

Jag gillar täckningsgraden, men kanske hade velat att den var aningens fastare i konsistensen. Men ändå väldigt nöjd. Använder den till att måla stenar.
