Good way to connect dvds & cds to a modern system. Runs well enough to play music disks and movies and isn’t too clunky to lug in your bag.

The BPAKDU external drive performs very well and I really like the other plug ins that it has. Having the SD drive works well with my trail cams that I have. The greatest thing about this is that I didn't have to do anything but plug it in to my PC and worked right out of the box. Totally simple...

Works well. The latching mechanism could be better but for the price it is fine. It is quite noisy when ripping CDs in comparison to ones I've had in the past but it is easy enough to use. The additional features make it handy.

This drive works out of the box. My new laptop lacked a DVD drive for looking at an older DVD information file. This drive is plug and play, read the files and did not require a driver.

Disk drive arrived with a short non attached USB A to C cable. Permanently attached is a USB 3A / C cable. This connects to the computing device (PC, Mac, laptop). The transfer / power cable is extremely short. Worked OK for the laptop, but would not work in my PC use. My PC (Minis Forum) is mounted behind my monitor making termination very difficult. I purchased a AINOPE USB C Extension Cable 6.6FT, 20Gbps/240W USB3.2 Type C Extender Cord to resolve this issue. Works like a charm. I have a clear desk, with the DVD drive now sitting on the monitor shelve where I can connect to my PC or my laptop without problem. I had 10 old DVD's of images that were being stored as backup media, but had no way to retrieve the data till now. I was able to transfer the images to another media, thanks to the drive and the cable. Reading a DVD with 2.6 GB of data, I was able to complete the transfer of 35753 files to my laptop with a Crucial BX500 2TB 3D NAND SATA 2.5-Inch Internal SSD in 61 minutes. The additional ports for the USB hub show up in explorer but I have not tested the capabilities of the hub. All in all I am well pleased with the results from the DVD drive, extension cable and the SSD.

Excellent technology. I needed it because of the lack of disc port on my PC. Worked perfectly.

Plug and play on Windows 11. Slim light weight and nice to have other ports and readers in same device.

I bought this drive about 15 months ago. It worked for reading and was successful at burning CDs for a while. I am running linux with KDE Neon, and the software seems to work fine. However, lately I have not been able to complete a CD burn. There is always an error, saying something about low-quality media. I tried a couple of brands of CD with no luck. I have used both k3b and brasero, and neither will complete a burn. I finally dragged out my old Samsung Writemaster burner, which is much larger than the Bpakdu (9x6x2 inches) and it has an external power supply, not USB powered. I think I bought it 15 or 20 years ago. It burns CDs and DVDs without a problem. I wasted hours and a dozen CDs before figuring out it is the burner, not the media. I'm not sure this problem is unique to the Bpakdu unit. I bought it because of similar problems with another compact burner, whose brand I don't recall. On the plus side, I like the extra USB ports it supplies -- my laptop is very stingy with USB ports. Plus, the Bpakdu unit reads CDs/DVDs just fine. And the price was right. If I buy another, I will spend a little more money to perhaps get a better-built burner.

This is a nice external disk reader - but at first it didn't appear to work at all. Tried it on a Linux PC, Windows 10 and a laptop with Win 11 - nothing, would read anything. I had plugged in the only USB-C cable to the back it and was plugging in the other end (USB-A) to the PC. After giving up I turned it over to see a hidden cable connected to the unit. Ahh!! Tried that and it worked perfectly. So - 5 stars for overall rating, but 3 stars for ease of use seeing it is REALLY CONFUSING to have a unit shipped with ONE extra cable that doesn't do anything. TLDR: Use the built in connected cable under the unit, NOT the supplied separate cable.

Parfait pour l'utilisation que je veux en faire. (transférer mes CD sur mon portable. Pour ensuite les tranféré sur ma carte mémoire de téléphone. Seule bémol....microsoft ne dispose plus des informations sur le CD. Mon technitien à dû m'installer l'application ITune.
