It works but fitting cracked
Works fine as long as you follow the instructions and there isn't too much rust. The only issue I had was that the fitting on the trans cooler on my 2007 f150 cracked when I put this tool in. This has nothing to do with the quality of the tool. The tool is fine. I just don't think this setup was designed with road salt and corrosion in mind. It's a tight fit so when the line rusts and expands it puts too much pressure on the fitting and the fitting is brittle from corrosion. It cracked very easily. Nobody list the part number. If you end up in the same situation the correct fitting for me was YL3Z-7D273-AA. The other fittings seemed fine but they don't get blasted with road salt.

Exactly what I needed- 2010 Ford Fusion
Worked great when I needed to replace the transmission cooler lines on my 2010 Ford Fusion. My car is the 2.5 naturally aspirated 4 Cylinder car with a 6 speed transmission.

Tries to solve a really bad situation
I was able to get 1 out of 2 transmission (so-called) "quick connects" (NOT) out immediately. The other one - I unscrewed the whole thing from the radiator. It was never coming loose any other way - EVER - NO-HOW. You know a quick disconnect has been stupidly designed when professional mechanics can't get them to function 50% of the time. The tool was not at fault.

Very effective
Used the 1/2" and it worked great. Slid on one line fine. Pushed it in. Followed advice online to push the line in and then work it out. At first it didn't seem like it was working but constant tug and slight wiggling and the line slowly made it's way out. The second line seemed initially more difficult because the tool wouldn't fit by a miniscule fraction. I tugged on the line enough to get the tool to fit and it then came off as well as the first.

2004 Ford F150 5.4L Transmission Oil Cooler Line Tool
Use 3/8'' size for 2003 - 2010 Ford V8 Explorer, 2004 and later Ford F150 and Cadillac CS. Use 1/2'' size for Ford Super Duty Trucks, F250, F350 and F450. I purchased a quick disconnect master set from Astro Pneumatic a while back and thought I had a pretty full arsenal of options for line removal. This was not included in that kit, and NONE of my 4 local automotive part stores had it in stock. Why do you need it? Ford and some Cadillac vehicles have a different style line going into the radiator than most other makers (at the time of this review). I can't speak for Cadillac, but some Ford cooler lines have a plastic safety clip that secures a flange on the line to the quick connect fitting on the radiator. THIS IS WHY YOU NEED THIS TOOL. That flange is very close to the fitting. Look closely at the tool and you'll see the stair stepped design. This is key to getting the tool closed around the line without interfering with that flange in the cooler line. I tried every other tool I had. This worked in seconds. It is strong, smooth to operate, and it's just the right size. It will last as long as I'm a mechanic. If your service manual calls for a Ford 307-441 tool, this is it.

Get this before you replace your radiator on an F150
I saw this tool being used on YouTube and gave a link to purchase this. I bought this as a backup. I took my truck to have radiator and water pump replaced and the mechanic said he didn't need it because he uses split copper tubing. His method worked great on the bottom line but he was stopped cold on the top line After 30 min - I said 'mind if I try this tool' and he said 'might as well it not coming off for me'--15 second later I had the line off. I gave him the tool and he gave me a discount.

Maybe it works in a perfect world , but not in the rustbelt.
Not too flimsy, but kinda. The concept is great, spot on actually. My situation has rust and corrosion in that area(salt/snow) perhaps in the nicer regions they slide right in as some depicted did. Not in my case. Luckily I could remove the coupler from my truck, and line as one, and remove it on the bench. Even vertical in a vise was a bear. My spring ring inside the coupler were squagged a bit too,so not a perfect scenario for the test. To the designers of the tool, Perhaps make the step down collar slightly longer , maybe a full 1/8 would work better. But slightly shorten the big side to keep the tool in the parameters of the line tolerances. That way it still fits lengthwise in that space, but also the step collar has more meat to get around the line deeper into the coupler. Seeing it's a scissor, one side sits deeper that the shorter side, so it's offset not going in equally on both halves. Fwiw, Still the best tool I've seen for this specific application , but like most things, it could be a tad bit better with very little effort in design. Just so it works better for most applications, not just perfect scenarios.

This was absolutely a life saver on a 2008 Taurus-X with original lines and lots of corrosion and dirt. I needed to replace the transmission thermostat but in order to do this you need to remove the 2 lines going out towards the transmission cooler (shared with AC condenser). Even after soaking the lines with penetrating fluid it was a hard task. I finally removed completely the thermostat from the car and put in a vise to give more strength. The plastic version of this tool would be totally useless when dealing with years of grime and rust, it’s going to break. You need metal tools to the rescue! For your info, my transmission is a Ford 6F50. Its probably going to work it’s way too on 6F55 and all Ford Edge, Flex and Explorers sharing this type of transmission.

Did the trick for swapping out the transmission lines on my 2013 F150. Would consider them almost disposable
