Before buying, I thought $25 was a bit of a rip off, but I understand the price after some googling. The cleaning solution in this kit is DeoxIT D100L (a small bottle is ~$50) which must account for most of the steep price tag. The plastic tools are of good quality and it comes with very clear instructions. The rubber applicator to apply the cleaning solution is perfect for cleaning the contacts of charging ports. I did not have high expectations, but this saved my S23 Ultra's charging port. For context, I accidentally charged my phone overnight with a small amount of water in the charging port. I woke up (after several hours) to my phone notifying me their was water in the port and to unplug it. I dried the port, but my phone had troubles charging. Even though usb-c is symmetrical, my phone would charge with the cable in one orientation, but if I reversed it, it would not charge (or start and stop charging repeatedly). I figure some of the pins responsible for the USB power delivery were corroded or oxidized from charging with water in it. I used the cleaning solution and the little applicator plug to clean the contact, and I'm happy to report the issue is solved! It did take 3 or 4 applications. The little bottle of cleaning solution has a stick in it to pick up droplets of solution and apply it, but it was a little challenging to get the liquid out. I had to tilt the bottle slightly to coat the dropper stick and dispense onto the rubber applicator plug. After letting the solution sit a bit in my charging port and angling the rubber plug slightly while inserting/removing repeatedly, it's good as new.

It seems a bit expensive for what it is, but the results are worth it. I think a lot of the cost is in the cleaning solution, which is rather expensive to purchase on its own. The tools are small and plastic, but they are robust enough to extract dirt without potentially damaging the connector. Use it carefully, you should have no problems. 5 minutes of cleaning, and my S23 is back to reliable charging. Nothing more annoying than waking up to a 5% low battery warning because the USB cable didn't seat properly.

Handy little tool for cleaning out your phone charging port. Can save you from buying a new phone when you don't need to. I was about to get a new phone but I thought I'd try this thing out and glad I did. Use most of the tools on it to clean out the charging port on my phone and now it charges good with out any problems. Saved me money and I can just take it with me if I think the port needs more cleanin in the future. Each tool is easy to use and has its purpose. While it does seem durable sometimes I do feel like I may break a couple of the tools accidently because it's plastic. But decent price for fixing your phones charging.

I purchased another brand and also this one at the same time. The other brand and also this one works just as described. I purchased two brands to make sure at least one would work for my phones usb port that was in desperate need of a clean. I used both, and they both worked incredibly well. The following is what led me to get these cleaning kits... I was having a serious issue with my Android usb port. Every time I would charge my phone, it would start and stop randomly, and thought that possibly this (one thousand dollar) phone was dying, so I purchased a wireless charger to be able to charge my phone, but soon realized that that was going to be difficult to have with me all the time for when I needed it, so I decided to start looking more closely at the possibility that it may be an issue other than the phone dying. I found a lot of videos about usb ports on cell phones to have similar issues, and it was due to the fact that the usb port was dirty or had some sort of obstruction. I then got out my alcohol and swabs to try and clean the port, but soon realized that the swab was a bit too big and I wasn't able to get down inside the port for a more thorough clean, and I didn't want to break anything so I decided to search Amazon for an alternative way of cleaning the port. I found this cleaning kit and thought I would give it a try. Once I received this in the mail, I immediately opened the package with excitement, found the correct tool for my phone, and went to work. I used a couple different tools in the kit for a more thorough clean, and then I took out my jewelers magnifying glass to check my work. MERCY - the usb port looked as new as the day I purchased the phone. I was excited to plug in my phone to see if it would charge without stopping... After about 5 minutes of charging, I knew that YES - this had worked, and I was so relieved, but also that I didn't have to buy a new phone. It has been a few months since I made this purchase (and another brand that I used as well), and my phone is still charging like a champ - thanks to this cleaning kit. Thank you for creating this cleaning kit, and I am sure that I will be using this on other phones or other devices that have usb port in the future with excitement (what makes this one a bit more convenient than the other brand I also used, is the fact this one is more compact and easier to carry around in your pocket - but still does as great a job as the other brand I used)... Excellent product that I highly highly recommend. If you are struggling with the decision to get this - DON"T, just go ahead and make the purchase - you will not be sorry...

Works decently for any loose debris. Every piece is too flimsy to apply any real force for stuck material.

Does a great job at clearing out the debris that can get into the charging ports, both in the cord and in the phone port. Very sturdy, and the size is pocket-sized ... each element clicks into place, so they don't fall out when using them. Used on multiple items already, and made a huge difference. Much easier/less costly than going to the local store to have it done. Along with canned air for final blow-out, works like a charm.

Pure Port? More like pure garbage. Not worth the money in any way. The tools are flimsy and do not function as described. This should be intuitive to anyone who is mechanically minded and has had plenty of practice. It is not. I thought after cleaning my port for years with a sewing needle it was time to invest in a specialized tool. This is not the answer. The tools themselves are flimsy, the plastic is so slippery and the tools fit so tight you need vice grips to remove them from the socket. If you have any form of arthritis this will cause you more pain than it is worth and it probably costs more than your arthritis medicine. Useless. It looks cool, sure, but that’s where it ends. And you can’t even open the cleaning solution without spilling it. Look elsewhere, because this “tool” is a joke.

My Iphone has had minor issues charging, I could plug it in and it would charge if I angled things right and the Iphone didn't move after it started charging. Using this tool I safely and pretty easily removed quite a bit of lint and other junk out of the port. The Lightning port doesn't just work well, it's more like it's brand new. The connection sits solidly in the port now and gives a tight connection. I can move the Iphone around with the cord in it and the Iphone continues to charge. My Android was even worse. I found one single cable that could charge it, almost nothing else could. After again using this tool I managed to get a lot of lint and debris out of the port and all of my USB-C cables now work on it just fine and it went from the cable just sliding in to the cable solidly attaching to the phone. I also used it to remove some black spots off of a lightning cable just fine. While this tool says it's for USB-C I would hazard a guess the lightning version is a bit easier to use on lightning ports/cables but I had no problems using this on lightning. The picture the seller uses shows all of the tools sticking out. The tool comes with all of them sticking into the tool and it requires a bit of pressure to pull each of the tool out. It can then either be used pulled out of the tool or you can stick it back in the tool with the cleaning part sticking out. Does a great job of protecting each of the cleaning parts. Overall the cleaning tool works, I love the design and while it took a bit of work to get my devices back to working condition they now seem to work perfectly. 5/5.

My galaxy s24 ultra was the 3rd usb c phone I have had. Both previously stopped being able to charge with a cable and the same was beginning again. I tried other tools but nothing worked until I bought this. My phone charger now 'clicks' again when I plug it in. Minimal effort and time using this effective tool allowed this. I couldn't believe how much dust it got out. I have since gone back and tested on my s22 ultra and the same has worked on that too. Can not recommend enough.
