Love it
Vallejo Diorama FX Desert Arena is an exceptional technical product for anyone looking to add realistic environmental textures to their miniatures or display bases without the mess of mixing sand and PVA glue. The 200ml tub is quite substantial, providing a thick, acrylic-based paste that perfectly captures the gritty, wind-swept look of an arid wasteland or a sun-baked gladiator pit. Its water-based formula makes it incredibly easy to work with; you can apply it straight from the pot with a palette knife for heavy dunes, or thin it slightly with water to create finer patches of dust. Once dry, it forms a hard, durable surface with a natural matte finish that looks authentic even before you add any additional paint or washes. The versatility of this texture paste is one of its strongest selling points, as it serves as both a structural element and a color base. The "Desert Arena" shade is a warm, sandy tan that provides an excellent foundation for further weathering, and because it is an acrylic medium, you can easily press small rocks, tufts, or debris into the wet paste to secure them as it cures. I found that it handles dry-brushing beautifully, as the gritty texture catches lighter tones to create a high-contrast, sun-bleached effect. It also has a decent working time, allowing you to sculpt footprints or tire tracks into the surface before it sets, which adds a fantastic sense of narrative to a Diorama. The only minor consideration is that because it is a thick paste, it can take several hours to dry completely, especially if applied in deep layers to create significant height. It is also worth noting that while it is durable, it can be a bit brittle if applied too thinly over a flexible surface, so it’s best used on rigid plastic or wooden bases. For the best results, I recommend applying it over a primed surface to ensure maximum adhesion, as the heavy grit can occasionally pull away from bare, smooth plastic. Overall, it is a professional-grade texturing tool that significantly speeds up the basing process while delivering a high-quality, realistic finish that elevates any hobby project.

One of the best texture pastes on the market.
Works really well for giving a textured surface, particularly over other materials like cork, it's easily applied, covers in a single thick coat, and takes paint exceptionally well. I decided I wanted desert bases, so I painted it, but the natural earth colour is good enough if basing models quickly is your goal, I'm pleased with the finished results. It's also worth pointing out, you get a heck of a lot in a single tub.

Good product
Good quantity for price, good consistency and sticks well to bases...including sticking minis, grass and stones. Only thing wrong is the colour is too grey

Great stuff!
Love this stuff, have bought a few jars now to paint the outside of my dollshouse for that stone finish which I will then paint. Can be painted on roughly and left to dry for a textured finish or painted on smoothly for a sandy look. Good product.

Good basing material
Love it. Used for the desert basing on these 40k models and worked perfectly at a fraction of the price of gw

Great basing product
Switched years ago to using this product to base my models for wargaming. Works well on plastic and MDF bases also used to good effect of foam board.

The best Texture Paste on the market
Revolutionises how to make bases! Looks great and super easy to do. Create varying layers to add different levels easily, always has a nice gritty texture that looks great after drybrushing. Good for filling gaps too if needed. Big container too so it will last ages. Definitely better that GW's range which is way more expensive in smaller bottles.

Great Earth
Vallejo doesn’t disappoint. This earth texture is great. Spread it thin to make it looked like tamped down earth or give it some thickness for a rough muddy look. Clean up is easy.. if you have a bit in the edges if you base some damp paper will clean it right up.. drying time takes a while but it’s def worth it.. or use a hair dryer to speed it up.. the color is great , it’s a huge tub so def worth the price. It’s def a great product and you’ll have it for a good amount of time.

PROBABILMENTE USANDO UN ALTRO STUCCO AVREI OTTENUTO RISULTATI MIGLIORI. TROPPO CARO!!
