Best Golf Simulator Projector
I built a golf simulator in my basement last year, and after a lot of research, landed on this projector as the best option. I needed something that would put up with hours of continuous use and had a short throw. After using it for more than a year and probably thousands of hours here's why I would give it a five-star rating. Bright and clear picture When setting up a golf simulator, you need to be in a room with some light so you can see the ball. I worried that a projector would struggle to provide a bright image in this environment. That is not been the case for this projector. It always appears bright and crystal clear even in a room with a lot of ambient light. I've also been impressed with the clarity of the picture. We use it to watch movies and videos from time to time and it really does feel high definition. Easy of Use It couldn't be simpler to use. The remote is easy to operate and even my 12-year-old can go down and confidently operate the projector and golf simulator. It was also very simple to hook up with an HDMI cable out the back of the projector running straight to our iPad. I also found the Keystone adjustments to be easy to work with. It got pretty close to what I needed on its own and I was able to fine-tune things manually. I never read an instruction manual, and everything turned out to be so easy. Performance over long hours of use My two sons are competitive golfers who play tournaments almost year-round. So, I can confidently say we are users of our golf simulator. Sometimes the projector has to run for six or eight hours a day. Even with that we've never seen overheating issues or had any problems with performance. It simply works all the time every time. Summary All that being said, I can't find anything that I would take a star off my rating for. We've truly been happy and I was surprised at how affordable the projector was when we purchased it. So, if you're specifically looking for a projector for a golf simulator or even a home theater situation wherea short throw is important. I would highly recommend checking this one out. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Excellent for Golf Simulators – Bright, Crisp, and Responsive!
I purchased the Optoma GT2000HDR specifically for my golf simulator setup, and it has exceeded my expectations in every way. The short throw feature is perfect for smaller spaces, allowing me to get a large, clear image even when the projector is placed close to the screen. The 1080p resolution with 4K HDR input delivers incredibly crisp visuals, making my golf simulation experience feel highly immersive and realistic. At 3,500 lumens, the brightness is more than adequate, even in a room with ambient light. I’ve been impressed by how well the colors and details hold up, providing excellent contrast and clarity during both daytime and nighttime sessions. The low input lag is also a huge bonus for maintaining smooth, responsive play, which is especially important for golf simulators where timing and accuracy matter. The compact design makes it easy to set up and position, and I appreciate that it doesn’t take up much space. Also, because this projector uses a laser, it produces a lot less heat than traditional projectors. Overall, this projector has been a great investment for my setup, offering fantastic performance for a projector in this price range. If you’re looking for something that can handle both home theater use and interactive applications like golf simulators, this projector is definitely worth considering.

Product lasted only 1 year
Crap customer service, vertical lines appeared on screen 30 days past 1 year warranty and customer service pawned off to 3rd party provider with estimate to fix more than original purchase price. Recommend purchasing a BenQ or Viewsonic projector with a 3 year warranty.

A few issues but going to keep it
I purchased this in December for my golf simulator. For reference I have an Epson laser ultra short throw as well. I originally purchased the Epson for the simulator decided to go ceiling mount instead, so I purchased this an put the other one in the living room. The picture quality is pretty good for my needs and it is approved by my sons for Fortnite. What I don't like is the speaker, in all honestly it is horrible for movies but works fine for the sim. There are no dynamic sound adjustments and it just sounds empty and hollow and vibrates too much when turned up for movies. If I had to pick a reason not to buy it, that would be it. However; it has a feature that works for me. Due to limited space and a low ceiling for a simulator (8'4") I needed to mount it off center. This has a setting to allow that. Thinking it is called H axis adjustment. It made it possible to mount it far right and still project leaving no way to accidentally hit it with a club. A few more dislikes almost had me returning it. If they are an issue for you maybe a future software update will fix them. Main issue, lasers aren't good for the skin, my other projector cuts off if it detects a person in front of the display. This doesn't have that function. So be careful. In addition, when you utilize the "display off" feature it cuts everything off including audio. Unlike other projectors if you are listening to an audio book, movie, or hit the screen off to get a golf ball to avoid the laser it is basically like putting a computer in standby instead of simply cutting the lazer and nothing else. Overall I kept it because the display is good and the adjustments for the display made it work for me. If you have an extra speaker bar I would use it. Still a 4 star product, but I would factor in a $99 Amazon basics sound bar when you do your own price comparison. If the other issues wouldn't make a difference to you, then I would buy. Also, check out remote replacement costs prior to purchasing any projector.

I installed the Optoma GT200HDR in my golf simulator and it works perfectly. It replaced an older 3000 lumen projector and the difference was remarkable. The GT2000 HDR is very bright and even with additional ambient lighting. It was extremely easy to set up and the projected image is as bright and clear as the television set that is connected to the gaming computer. The Optishot Nova launch monitor which is connected to the Orion video software allows this projector to display the most realistic images of the golf courses that I have ever experienced. An excellent projector for a golf simulator.

Was so excited for newly announced compact Laser Projector GT2000HDR 2023 model. With impressive 30,000 Hrs life. BUT when I turned it on for first time, colors was so dull, then I thought this will be some setting issue. Spent 1 hour figuring it out by changing all the option, from HLG to Cinema, sports and vivid modes. Nothing worked, colour was dull and distorted. COLOR CHANGING OPTION WAS NOT EVEN ACCESSIBLE AS IT WAS GREYED OUT AND I CANT EVEN SELECT THAT OPTION. Above all the remote is so tiny and buttons were so tiny that I ended up having pain in my finger tips and thumb. Be Aware this doesn't have Backlite remote as other models. Above all it doesn't even came with instructions Manual. I returned it the next day.

Great projector for my golf sim, easy to use and connect. Lacks some options for the price point and the remote is very sub par for the price also. Still bright enough for lights on viewing or sun (its not a tv but is viewable). Plenty of options for fine tuning color and focus.
