MOTOPOWER MP00205A 12V 800mA Fully Automatic Battery Charger/Maintainer - UK Plug

Great little charger supplied with a fused connector to attach directly to a battery, very handy to fit to my motorcycle. Also supplied with a set of insulated crocodile clips which connect to the charger output cable via the insulated connector. The LED display is clear and intuitive. If I have one small criticism, it's the lenght of the power lead which is quite short, this was mentioned in other buyers reviews, however, this did not affect my choice. Very pleased with this purchase.

Exactly as described and works well

I used the MOTOPOWER MP00205A 12V 800mA fully automatic battery charger/maintainer on my Toyota RAV4 while it was left unused for about 45 days. I simply connected it to the car on the driveway, and when I returned, the 12V battery measured 12.6 V, the car started and drove perfectly, and there was no battery discharge or issues at all. The charger is easy to use, fully automatic, and very affordable at £18. It kept my OEM battery healthy without any need for upgrades or expensive replacements. One important note is that the cable is very short. I had to cut it and extend it by 2 metres to reach comfortably. If you do this, make sure to reconnect properly using electrical tape or solder the wires, and make it waterproof to avoid any risk of damage or short circuits. People should be aware of this before purchase. For anyone leaving their car idle for extended periods, this is a simple, reliable, and cost-effective solution.

As long as you've got a battery of the correct type and voltage (which is pretty much all common vehicle batteries), this will work amazingly. Pros: - Super compact/portable (as long as there's a mains outlet nearby). - Extremely simple to use. - Works on basically completely flat batteries, or just to maintain a battery that's been sitting for ages. - "Jumper" clips AND terminal connection options. Cons: - No voltage readout. - LED can give a false reading if it's trickle charging*. - Only supplies 800mA (0.8A); For a car battery with 40AH capacity, it will take around 50 hours (at 100% efficiency), assuming the battery is at literally 0% (yeah, don't do that, your battery is ruined, get a new one lmao)... So just be aware of charging times. *This highly depends on the stage of charging. Just as an anecdote as an example: I had completely ran my motorcycle battery into the ground trying to start the blasted thing during this cold winter (joys of carburetted bikes sitting for weeks), yet after letting it sit for 5 mins then sticking it on charge, the charger showed a green LED indicating it was finished, but my multimeter said otherwise. Just left it charge for 12 hours anyway and it was good to go the next morning. The battery might've been in the absorption stage, but there's no way to really tell the stages apart, to be honest... So just bare that in mind. Conclusion: If you need to charge your motorcycle, car, boat, whatever battery that's 12v Lead Acid, and willing to let it charge for a day or so, this is absolutely recommended. However, if you need a precise readout of the voltage, or faster charging times, I would recommend pairing this with a multimeter for the voltage, and a higher amperage output charger.

Easy to use and easy to locate and fit wires so you can plug in simply in future without in my case of having to remove seat. Cycles through the program well and keeps battery topped up when not in use. Would buy again

Used for a motorcycle, to replace a Oxford optimate charger. Can be attached to a wall or bench Similar to the optimate to use . Crocodile clips are strong, as is the cable to hard wire it to the battery. Worth the money and in my view a better product, cheaper too

The battery on my Harley-D went completely flat, so I bought this, plugged it in overnight, and it started the first time. Very complicated to use. You have to plug it into the mains, plug it into the motorbike, and... wait. Yeah, it's idiot proof. Good charger and excellent price.
