My 7 month old grandchild finds this toy easy to grab and put up to her mouth. It keeps her occupied while changing diapers or playing on the mat. The rattle part hardly makes a sound, but the color beads are decorative. I have submerged the toy in soapy water to wash after use and water collects inside the rattle area, so I removed a star for that.
