Game changer
Honestly the best purchase iv made this year , works flawlessly. It's compact enough to bring everywhere, the Bluetooth connection is instant and it works straight out of the box, iv had it scanning constantly for 7+hrs without even effecting the battery life. Been using it with my laptop, iPad , phone and desktop without any issues. Works perfectly with excel, Google sheets , word and my own proprietary data app. All of the settings can be changed just by scanning the qr codes leaflet they give ( so don't throw it out) , you can make it scan silently , change scan format or even add " or , to the barcodes automatically so excel doesn't force them into scientific notation ( which makes them unusable). The most compact and affordable scanner I could find has turned out to be the best iv ever used.

Ideal for mobile shops or stockroom usage
This review is for a portable bluetooth 2D barcode scanner, branded Eyoyo, priced at £49.99 when reviewed. The device is comfortable to hold in the hand, and easy to activate when in manual mode, with a simple press of the button. It incorporates a light to light up barcodes, both to make it easier for the scanner to read the code, but also to aid the operator to point it at the barcode. All 2D barcodes I tried were scanned and accepted. Like virtually all barcode readers, it acts as a keyboard, effectively typing the barcode out and pressing ENTER at the end. Various settings can be adjusted, this is achieved by finding the setting in the supplied printed manual and scanning the QR code next to it. Settings are remembered once set, even if the device is powered off. This works equally well with PCs and mobile devices and tablets. Obviously with a PC, you have to be within Bluetooth range of the PC. A Bluetooth dongle is provided if your PC lacks bluetooth capability. Tested with our own Stock Control app on a Windows PC with the default settings worked flawlessly, and the battery life looks like it should last a working day easily. Charging is via USB-C rather than a dock. A USB-A to USB-C charge cable is provided. Using a USB-C charge port could lead to durability concerns if used in an environment that needs charging daily. Additionally, on the review unit, the On/Off switch didn't feel like it would last heavy, daily use.

Impressed with this great pocket scanner. Reliable scans. Minor niggles.
This is an excellent pocket scanner with just minor niggles. It primarily operates like a keyboard, and can be connected to a host via a USB C cable, Bluetooth, or pairing it to the included 2.4 GHz USB dongle (useful if having no Bluetooth or preferring this method). The default Bluetooth mode is HID, but it can connect as BLE, or SPP to emulate a serial port connection. Connection modes and many other options can be set via QR codes that are provided in the manual. There are a substantial number of codes, mostly for enabling or disabling certain QR / barcode formats, but also for entering characters and configuration options. Connection to Bluetooth for the first time worked within seconds, and when the device was turned off and then on again, it reconnected within just a few seconds and gave audible feedback. The device normally sends codes as it scans them, with audible feedback if there was no connection to send the code. It can instead store codes, and there is an option to send the codes at a later time. This worked without any problem. There are options for scanning when pressing the button, continuous scan mode, and automatic mode where it starts scanning when detecting a potential target. I would have liked for there to be an option that sends the data as JSON, and a way to scan a QR code that would set the data and time on an RTC in the unit, and to have that included in the JSON. Nonetheless, working like a keyboard gets you a long way too. The battery indicator LEDs are very bright. They are recessed some way below pinholes in the case, and viewed off axis there is no problem. Catch them at an angle where you're looking straight down the holes though, and they are extremely bright. Options for them to be less bright or only showing for a few seconds when you first turn the unit on or if charging could have mitigated this. Charging seems only to take effect when the unit is turned on. It's fairly comfortable to hold, albeit a bit chunky. It has an attached clip, but I'd rather put it in a pocket, and would be inclined to remove the clip, and there is an included screwdriver for that very purpose! Overall this is a great little unit and good value.

Quick and accurate code scans, good battery life and lots of features - with a caveat
My needs for this 2D barcode scanner were quite limited to be honest. As a software developer I have produced several asset management systems and generally use iOS/Android client apps for reading custom QR codes back into the application - mainly because everyone has a phone! With an inexpensive device like this - could this be a viable alternative so that users could switch to laptops? This is an emphatic yes! This scanner has worked with every code I've thrown at it - including code stickers that are barely legible/damaged. Out of the box there are 2 ways of using the scanner. You can either pair it via bluetooth or use the charging cable to plug it direct into your host device. Both work seamlessly. There's a third option to pair to a 2.4Ghz dongle - I presume this is something you can buy from the manufacturer. This brings up the caveat. This scanner has a huge range of options - most of which I've no idea what they do! The settings I'm most interested in are things like switching between CR/LF and Tab being sent when a code is scanned. The thing is - there's no software to set this. What you need to do is use the great list of QR codes in the tiny manual to trigger each setting. This is quite a good idea I guess - but lose the manual - lose the ability to change the settings! What would have been much more useful here would be to have been supplied with some sort of A4 cheat sheet for these settings. I think if I'm recommending this device to users I will have to make my own. Eyoyo appear to have 2 websites (eyoyoscan.com and eyoyousa.com) but I couldn't find the manual for this device to download it. Still - scanning has been fast and accurate on both QR codes and barcodes - this is a very handy device.

Effective 2D barcode scanner
The barcode scanner is nicely sponge packaged in a box containing the scanner, wrist strap, a wireless dongle, USB-C charging cable, a screwdriver to remove the clip if needed, and the instruction manual which contains various barcode settings used to adjust and set up the scanner with. You don’t want to lose the manual; however, you should be able to get a digital version by contacting the email suggested on the card that comes with the unit. I tried to find a digital version online, and it seems you can download it from the Eyoyo site, but you need to request access to be able to download it, which is unfortunate and should be easier in my opinion. The scanner paired automatically with the dongle supplied and worked perfectly fine on my laptop once Windows set up the dongle which it did automatically. I tested the Bluetooth functionality with my phone and that also paired without issues and was able to scan directly onto keyboard entry areas. While connected, I couldn’t use the screen keyboard until I disconnected the scanner, but I think this is normal Android behaviour and not the fault of the scanner. The unit scanned any typical standard barcodes and 2D barcodes with ease, quickly and efficiently. Being a 2D barcode scanner, it lights up the area so that the internal CCD can read the QR code more effectively. I like that the confirmation sound is slightly different if it is in storage or direct transmit mode. The button stands slightly proud of the device, but as it has a separate on/off switch at the base, it won’t be activated accidentally if the unit is properly turned off, unlike some others I’ve tried in the past. Overall, it’s a good quality barcode scanner with a multitude of configure by scanning options… I like it! Price and lack of ease to get a digital manual easily bring it down a touch for me, 4.5/5 Stars!

DONT LOSE YOUR MANUAL!!!
Great scanner. works well for both barcodes and QR codes. It cant do tiny high resolution barcodes but thats not really a negative about this low cost scanner as thats for high dollar scanners. Just guard the manual with your life. It contains QR codes for programming/config. Without that manual you cant make changes, switch from tethered to bluetooth, switch from keyboard to smartphone mode, etc. You can download a new manual, but you'll have to email customer support for a password to access the file.

(Belgisch AZERTY (punt) toetsenbord). Kan ik zeker aanraden.
