Then I started testing its transfer speeds to see what the maximum transfer rate would be.I transferred a 5 Gb file from an SSD to another SSD using a sata to USB 3.0 dongle plugged into the USB port on the back of this card. With this method I got a maximum transfer rate of 250 MBps which is the maximum transfer rate of PCI 1x 1.0. To me, this confirms that the USB ports on this card are indeed USB 3.0, since that's a transfer rate over 4x the speed of USB 2.0. However, you're going to get this card, and you want the maximum speed out of it, make sure it's plugged into a PCI 1x 4.0 slot for a maximum transfer rate of 1250 MBps.
