Fair play, it's excellent nut material.
This has slightly odd string spacing at just over 43mm, as opposed to the universal 42mm on pretty much every classical guitar. However, it is not noticeable (I mean, it's 1mm across the length of the string so it doesn't affect playing). It's a massive improvement over bone. No more squeaks, no more sanding, no more shredded trebles. I just wish they'd do a version with standard spacing because I'm fussy like that.

Solid upgrade
If your guitar has a plastic nut this will be a solid upgrade. It took forever to arrive but it was worth it.

My low-end Ibanez GA5 classical guitar now sounds like it has been upgraded by about $400! I don't have any complaints about this product whatsoever. As soon as I took the nut out of the package, I could feel that it was very, very hard. After removing the old nut from the guitar, I dropped each nut on my hardwood table, just to hear the different pitches. The old nut was good, but the Graph Tech nut sounded like a piece of glass - good sign. I had no problems sanding the nut down, or getting it to fit perfectly into place, because I did my homework before buying it. It was easy to find information about it, along with tips from other guitarists about how to work with it. In fact, as I went along and read the reviews on Amazon, I came across several descriptions of how to properly use this instrument (The nut, that is.). It will require a little bit of sanding. I started my sanding with 80-grit, and gradually moved up to 2000-grit paper as the nut got closer to the right size. If you lay your paper on a piece of glass or a glass tabletop, then you will get a very flat surface on your piece. In order to remove the old nut, I merely used a sharp pen knife to score its edges in order to loosen it from the lacquer finish. Then, I placed a flat screwdriver against it and gently tapped with a hammer until it came loose. Once it was removed, I had to sand down the free surfaces and scrape off a little glue. Using the new nut and my gradually finer sandpaper, I simply placed the sandpaper around the newly-shaped nut and sanded the free surfaces of the neck and fretboard. This ensured that the surfaces would come to an exact fit. I also replaced the saddle in this guitar with a graph tech saddle. Now, this guitar that I bought for $200 in '07 sounds so much better that it feels like a brand new guitar.

This nut has potential, but it's going to take some serious sanding to get it down to shape. The worst problem was the spacing of the strings. The pre-shaped string slots are pointless since they don't all fit on the neck. I had to sand them off and create my own string slots. It would've been easier to just buy a blank nut and work from there.
