Oxbow Western Timothy Hay, 2.55 kg

The Hay is lovely and green and fresh and isn't anywhere near as dusty as the Alfalfa King brand which was terrible and made me and my guinea pigs sick. It is resealable which is really great for keeping it fresh. Only grumble is that it takes so long to be delivered. As soon as it arrives I need to order another one, but the pattern works well and no one else delivers any quicker for this size of bag.

Expensive? A bit, but worth it. My guinea pigs love it. Virtually dust free, smells lovely. Would definately recommend this above any other I've tried, and so would the piggies 😀.

This is top quality hay, and the only Hay my Chinchillas and Rabbit will happily munch on all day.

Bought this through pets at home but only because I didn't have time to get it delivered through Amazon. Usually purchase Excel hay which has short strands and not always fresh. Decided to spend a bit more and get this for my two mini lops and they absolutely love it. Well worth the money it is so fresh when you open the bag you can smell such a strong smell. Long strands and it isn't dusty. Will definitely keep purchasing this though will watch out for discounts as it can be a bit pricey when you're going through 2 bags a fortnight!

Very fresh hay that stays a healthy green colour for longercthan any of the other hays ive tried. Unfortunately it can get very dusty especially toward the bottom. This hay is also the worst hay to effect my hay fever, this could be acresult of the dustiness. My rabbits love this but as its making me ill im having to find an alternative. If you do not have hay fever or not allergic to timothy hay i would recommend this as it is very fresh. I found a few forums where people have the same issue with this exact hay and their allergies

This is *usually* very good quality Timothy Hay and excellent for rabbits teeth and digestion. However Oxbow appear to be chopping it up into smaller and smaller lengths which is not good for wearing down rabbits' constantly growing teeth. This bag in March 2025 is especially bad and short strands of Timothy Hay are mixed with what looks like dried grass mowings and tiny pieces that look like floor sweepings which are bad for my rabbits' health. Very disappointing quality for very expensive hay.

Initially when I first started ordering this I would chose the 1.1kg size & the quality of the hay was invariably very good. However, in order to be more economical, I decided to start ordering the larger sizes of 2.55kg or larger, assuming that it would just be a larger bag of the same soft, green hay. For some reason, the hay in the larger bags is far more coarse & straw-like & my guinea pigs tend to pick out the few finer bits & leave the coarser stuff which makes it rather wasteful. Also, I have found that even the quality within the 2.55kg bags can vary with the last bag I had being full of brown, not very appealing hay, which is even worse than the coarse, straw-like stuff! I am hence going to stick with the smaller bags - they may prove more expensive in the long-run but they seem to contain the finer quality hay.

１ｋｇよりこちらの方がお得だと思い購入しました。 牧草自体は柔らかめだったのですが、全体的に細かいものが多く、 牧草フィーダーに入れても落ちてしまいます。 なのであまりお得感は感じられませんでした。 時期によって当たり外れはしょうがないと思いますが、 それからは１ｋｇに戻しました。

Great value. Nice and fresh and green, not so dried out and grey looking as the hay you can but in the box stores. Definitely will purchase again. And this is a huge bag, so a great value for the price. UPDATE: I purchased the 9lb bag after this one and it is a rip off. There is less hay in the 9lb bag than there is in this 90 oz bag. I will stick to the 90 oz bags as they are a much better value for the price.

Ich kenne das Oxbow Timothy Heu schon seit einigen Jahren, hatte jedoch Schwierigkeiten, es hier in Deutschland zu bekommen. Meine Chinchillas lieben es, dafür wird jede andere Heusorte links liegen gelassen. Es wird auch von Tieren gut gefressen, die eine Zahnsanierung hinter sich haben (so bin ich damals auf das Heu gekommen). Der Preis ist im Vergleich zu anderen Heusorte natürlich sehr hoch, aber für mich nur auf den ersten Blick. Chinchillas können ziemlich wählerisch sein und bevor ich günstigeres Heu kaufe, dass dann verweigert wird, gebe ich lieber etwas mehr Geld aus. Die Lieferung über Amazon erfolgt wie gewohnt zügig.
