My Adventure with the ORCA: Reliable video light and red light for night dives
After extensive testing and research, this underwater light proved to be a great choice for my diving and photography. I dive in cold water, travel internationally for liveaboard diving and I needed the light for my photography and gopro videos, that is small and practical, durable enough to handle rough use and easy to operate with gloves. The flashlight provides impressive brightness and wide beam to cover my subjects. The color comes out to be quite natural or can be tweaked in photo editor to bring out the details. The included ball joint bracket is super convenient to attach with the camera tray. I could easily get two to three one-hour dives with a single charge if I turn on/off while taking my pictures and not using it all the time. I found the high intensity mode is generally too bright. So, I primarily use the low mode and red light for night dives. The green light on the button is also useful to know how much battery is remaining without worrying about the dead battery. For the night dives, the red light is quite useful to find the animals before I turn on video light to take pictures. The build is quite solid to handle the rough and tumble of multi-day boat dives. I took it down to 100 ft without any issues and battery worked flawlessly. For the best battery life during long dive trips, I switch between the two included batteries and charge them during surface intervals. The low mode is perfect for most situations and helps extend battery life significantly.

Excellent value you'll be glad you bought.
I absolutely love this light. My gf had the previos model, so when we saw they upgraded it, we had to try it. The light comes with a ball mount so it's easy to mount it on the camera, and easy to transfer it to a different camera if we change setups. The battery lasts a long time, especially if we turn it off between searches and photos or videos. I love that it comes with two batteries and they can be charged by plugging a USBC cable directly into the battery so that one can be charging while we use the other. The modes are very bright, less bright, red and violet. We are looking forward to using the red light when we go to Malapascua for the mandarin fish dives. I will also use the violet light to see a different perspective of the corals at night. It is easy to switch between modes and then off again by a quick press of the side button. The angle is a good, wide beam, so if our dives won't be extremely long, we leave it on as a search light to light up the reef. It's an excellent, well-made light and we have recommended it to many people already.

Great Little Video Light
I’ve owned a few OrcaTorches in the past. I’ve been very happy with the quality and price. One of my favorites is the D710. With the 6 degree narrow beam it make a great little spotting light. I recently purchased the D710V. What caught me attention was the small size, the 120 degree 2000 lumen beam, and the ball mount. I do underwater video with a large full frame camera. I thought that this would work great as a backlight. On my recent dive trip, I didn’t have an opportunity to do macro video. But I was surprised how well it performed on wideangle and close up. I have a few pictures below to show my testing of the D710V. The first picture below shows screen grabs from the same video clip. On the left side is with no light, on the right side with the D710V. It lit up the foreground nicely adding color, without overpowering it. Next, I have a closeup on an arrow crab, with very nice results. The D710V was bright enough to overpower the dappling from the sun. I pulled back to show how close the light was to the subject. Finally, I have a picture of how I set it up on a small tripod. I’m looking forward in trying the D710V with macro. The quality of OrcaTorch shows in how well it is packaged. It comes in a padded travel case, with a USB-C chargeable battery, ball mount, lanyard and spare O-Rings. The red light is great to signal a boat during a night dive. The UV light, at night shows all the fluorescent critters on the reef. I would recommend two of these for anyone with a small underwater video camera. And as backlight, or macro light for larger cameras.

Recomendado
