A dangerous alliance between a Vampyre bride and an Alpha werewolf becomes a love deep enough to sink your teeth into in this new paranormal romance from the New York Times bestselling author of The Love Hypothesis. Misery Lark, the only daughter of the most powerful Vampyre councilman of the Southwest, is an outcast - again. Her days of living in anonymity among the Humans are over: she has been called upon to uphold an historic peacekeeping alliance between the Vampyres and their mortal enemies, the Weres, and sees little choice but to surrender herself in the exchange - again . . . Weres are ruthless and unpredictable, and their Alpha, Lowe Moreland, is no exception. He rules his pack with absolute authority, but not without justice. And, unlike the Vampyre Council, not without feeling. It's clear from the way he tracks Misery's every movement that he doesn't trust her. If only he knew how right he was . . . Because Misery has her own reasons to agree to this marriage of convenience, reasons that have nothing to do with politics or alliances, and everything to do with the only thing she's ever cared about. And she is willing to do whatever it takes to get back what's hers, even if it means a life alone in Were territory . . . alone with the wolf. Praise for The Love Hypothesis 'Contemporary romance's unicorn: the elusive marriage of deeply brainy and delightfully escapist.' Christina Lauren, New York Times bestselling author of The Unhoneymooners 'Funny, sexy and smart.' Mariana Zapata, New York Times bestselling author 'I couldn't put it down. Highly recommended!' Jessica Clare, New York Times bestselling author 'Pure slow-burning gold with lots of chemistry.' Popsugar 'A beautifully written romantic comedy with a heroine you will instantly fall in love with.' Elizabeth Everett, author of A Lady's Formula for Love Review: One of the best books I've read!!! - This one tops all wolf shifter romance books for me! It was so well written. One of my best reads of 2024. Loved Lowe and Misery. All the pinning jad me swooning. The characters were so well written. The pacing was so good. Loved all the humor and heart this story had. I never knew I needed it so much! Can't wait for Koen and Serena’s book! Don't wanna say goodbye to this world! Review: Protective Alpha + Chaotic Vampire Girl = Perfection - If you’re a fan of supernatural stories like The Vampire Diaries — filled with vampires, werewolves, forbidden romance, and political tension — then Bride will probably be right up your alley. The prologue immediately hooked me. It does such a good job of establishing the tension between vampires and werewolves while also hinting at the attraction simmering underneath all that hostility. The story follows Misery Lark, daughter of a powerful vampire councilman who has spent most of her life being treated as political collateral. After years living among humans, she’s pulled back into vampire politics when she’s asked to marry Lowe Moreland, the Alpha of the werewolf pack, to help maintain peace between the species. But Misery has her own reasons for agreeing to the marriage — mainly the disappearance of her best friend, Serena, which she believes may somehow connect back to the wolves. Lowe was one of my favorite parts of the book. Despite being an Alpha, he leads with responsibility and loyalty rather than fear or cruelty. He’s protective, dependable, and quietly devoted, which made him really stand out. Misery was also such an entertaining main character. Her sarcasm and humor balanced Lowe’s calmer personality perfectly, and their interactions were genuinely fun to read. The story combines political tension, secrets, supernatural mysteries, and the gradual reveal of the mate bond in a way that keeps the pacing fast and addictive. That said, I did sometimes wish the romance itself felt a little more emotionally intense. The setup is strong, but I wanted slightly more depth in their connection. Still, the paranormal atmosphere and fast pacing made this such an enjoyable binge read. Just don’t go in expecting extremely detailed world-building — the focus is much more on the romance and character dynamics. Overall, this was a fun, entertaining paranormal romance with engaging characters, supernatural tension, and an addictive plot. Perfect for getting out of a reading slump.

Your favourite inter species Romance
Ali always hits it out of the park. Bride is a very well written vampire werewolf story with so much tension. Im a sucker for books where the hero always falls first and this one is a winner where it ticks all the boy obsessed points.

Delightful blend of romance, intrigue, and well-developed characters
This captivating paranormal romance introduces readers to a world where Vampyres and Weres coexist, albeit uneasily. Here are the key elements that stood out: Plot and Premise: The story revolves around Misery Lark, the daughter of a powerful Vampyre councilman, who finds herself caught in a historic peacekeeping alliance with the Weres. The marriage of convenience between Misery and Lowe Moreland, the Alpha Werewolf, sets the stage for intrigue, danger, and unexpected romance. Characters: * Misery is a strong-willed protagonist with her own hidden motivations for agreeing to the alliance. * Lowe, the brooding Alpha, is both ruthless and surprisingly compassionate. * Their interactions are filled with tension, mistrust, and undeniable chemistry. Worldbuilding: * While minimal due to the focus on romance, the world of Vampyres and Weres adds depth to the story. * The political dynamics and historical context enhance the stakes. Romance and Sensuality: * The sensual romance between Misery and Lowe is a highlight. * The slow burn and forbidden attraction keep readers engaged. Humor and Emotional Impact: * The book balances humor with emotional moments. * However, some abrupt plot turns may lessen the overall impact. In summary, “Bride” offers a delightful blend of romance, intrigue, and well-developed characters. Despite minor flaws, it’s an enjoyable and captivating read. As for a sequel, it would be exciting to explore Serena and Koen’s story further. Let’s hope the author considers it! 📚✨

Book review 🐺🩸
Yhe book has a very strong opening... The whole setup is really tense there are vampires, werewolves and humans and everyone is on the edge. The stakes are high as key members from each group are traded to seal this alliance. It's the alliance of the century, a Vampire Bride to a Werewolf Groom. Misery, maybe the only daughter of a powerful vampire councilman, is still the spare child who stands out as a complex character. Her journey from mere survival cause that's what is expected of her, to discovering a life worth living, with people who genuinely care for her, is one of the book's highlights. The slow burn from enemies to partners between Misery and Lowe is intriguing. Lowe's shift from indifference to helping Misery realize her own worth—her intelligence and bravery—feels refreshing and well-paced. While the plot twists and character arcs are compelling, the ending feels a bit rushed and doesn't fully do justice to Misery's growth.

The author created a wonderful paranormal world. I loved it!
This is the first book that I read by the author Ali Hazelwood. Like so many books, this book was on my TBR pile to read someday. I had forgotten about it until someone mentioned it in a book group on Facebook. I decided to give it a try and I’m so glad I did because I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was exactly what I was looking for to get me out of my book slump. Author Ali Hazelwood wrote a paranormal love story this time and created a fascinating world in which three species existed, the vampyres, the werewolves and the humans. Each had their strengths and their weaknesses. The vampyres and werewolves were stronger than the humans but the humans were stronger in numbers. Each had their own territory. There was a lot of tension between each group, in the past there had already been war with many deaths. At this time there was peace through alliances and collaterals between the vampyres and the humans, but political changes were coming and this could break the fragile peace. And so new alliances were made. The main characters are 25 year old vampyre Misery Lark and alpha werewolf Lowe Moreland. Misery may be a vampyre but she grew up in the human world. When she was 8 years old, she was sent there as a collateral, Misery stayed with the humans until her 18th birthday. The only good thing that happened there was her friendship with Serena, a human and her best friend. Although Misery went back to the vampyre world, she didn’t feel welcome there so she returned to the human world to live and work there. But now she’s called home by her father. A new alliance is needed, this time with the werewolves. Misery’s father wants Misery to agree to an arranged marriage with the alpha werewolf Lowe. Misery has her own reasons for agreeing. Neither of them had love in mind when they agreed to the marriage, but from the moment Misery and Love meet, there’s a connection between them. But not everyone wants peace, enemies (known and unknown) try to hurt them and create war between the different species. Does their marriage have a chance or was it never meant to be? I really loved this story. The pace of the story was fluent and the story kept my attention from the beginning until the end. The story was told from Misery’s POV but at each chapter there was a little insight into his thoughts. I loved that! The story was a bit of a slow burn but there were a few sex scenes in the story. The main characters were fascinated, mysterious and very protective of their loved ones. It was great to see how Misery changed throughout the story. She went from a antisocial, distant person to someone who cared from more than just her best human friend Serena. She started to interact more with the people around her, feeling protective of them. She could be a little bit ‘crazy’ at times but I loved that about her. Lowe was intelligent, strong and considerate. He felt responsible for his pack and his little sister Ana (she was so cute, she had me laughing now and then). He respected the opinions of his seconds, but in the end he made the decisions himself. He was a great pack leader. Because Misery moved into his pack, we got to known his seconds better. They were also interesting characters too. There was some tension in the beginning, but later the accepted Misery for the person she was. The differences between the vampyres and the werewolves made for some fun and interesting scenes. Misery’s twin brother Owen was a bit of a mystery. He hid his true personality from the world, in his own way he cared for his sister, but he never showed it in public. Vampire world can be very dangerous, it’s best not to show any weaknesses. In the story there was an unknown enemy and I have to admit that I was a little surprised when I found out who the enemy was. I didn’t guess it. I really enjoyed this paranormal world and I hope that one day the author will write another story in this world. I have my fingers crossed for it!

Amazing Swooning Fantasy
This book gave me all the feels! Empathy, compassion, love, laughter, heartbreak and anger. From the moment we are introduced to Misery, I was rooting for her. I loved her spunk and tenacity. The sacrifices she had to deal with but her ability to care was something that endured me to her. She’s capable of so much more than anyone gave her credit for. I loved her savvy and her honesty with everyone she met. Lowe was a swoony lead. I wouldn’t call him a hero necessarily because that is not what Misery needed. She needed a champion. Someone to be on her side and to cheer her on, and Lowe did that despite fighting off the connection they had. I loved their connection and his immediate need to see to her comforts. I hated the conflict and it broke my heart for Misery. Sacrifice can be a double edged sword. Sometimes it is best to fight for what you want. At least Misery was winning to do just that!

Say hello to my new obsession!!
Well say hello to my new obsession!! What the knot! This book definitely worth the hype!! Bride has everything I love in books, it made me giggles and emotional. Vampire and Werewolf, I'm back in my twilight era! Misery Lark a vampyre raised among the humans, she never felt home between them but neither was with vampyre. Lowe Moreland is the Alpha, he has a lot of responsibility, he needs to keep his pack safe. She's the daughter of the most powerful Vampyre of the Southwest. He's different from the old Alpha, he see a different future. And when vampyres and werewolves decide to make an alliance, Misery will find herself married to the Alpha. Lowe Moreland is not what she was expecting, he's carrying and loyal, he's a protective big brother and protective over his vampyre wife. Misery needs to find her best friend, her soul sister, and Lowe Moreland is the only cue Serena left her before disappearing. I really loved reading this book, Lowe is such a sweet and big Were, where can I find one? The side characters are important as much as the main ones, Ana is one of the most cuties, the way she accepts Misery (or should I say Miresy?) and make her feel home. Can we talk about the found family? One of the best trope in this book. I really hope Ali will considers to continue this story, especially after the epilogue. Plus can we talk about the fact that the book is from Misery pov but at the start of every chapter we can read Lowe thoughts? P.s. What a knotting knot! 🪢 Mels.bookverse review
