MusicNomad Total Fretboard Care
Great little kit, every guitar player should have one, comes with fret polish, and an extremely well manufactured fret board oil that you can also use to clean the strings and also lubricate them. Absolutely no smell, the shine from the feet polish is easy to achieve with just using the provided polishing cloth, and it provides a great amount of protection for any fret board, as I've even used this oil on maple fret boards.

Why you need this? I'll tell you.
A change of strings can be a mixed bag of satisfaction and relief. After a good couple hours of playing it is worth the effort. It is just not quite like getting the instrument back from the guitar doctor. This one extra step might change your strings more often. Polish the frets while the strings are off and you have a poor man's luthier service. Use as much time and patience as you can afford. You are rewarded with a buttery smooth gleaming delight to the touch. This is half of what I get out of the yearly trip to the luthier. It is seriously that good! Let me share my journey with this experience so far. I will tell you what I have found that works. The first time that I did the fret polishing was just a quick rub down. It was a bit frustrating. More than a bit. I was considering not even doing all of the frets. The little plates are thin and flexible. That first time polishing frets was on my acoustic dread. I was seated on a stool with the guitar on the floor. This the same way I usually change strings (Justin Guitar Style). As I polished frets the guitar was rocking. The rocking caused the thin metal slotted fretboard protectors to jump off and on the frets. Polish was as much on the board as the fret. It seemed like it went on and on as a real fight all the way thru. Three way rumble. I was holding the plate by the handle. This grip did little to control the placement of the plate with relation to the fret. The thin metal would flex and rise up at the far end when enough pressure was applied to overcome the shifting neck due to the movement of the guitar body edge on the floor. This is partly due to the slight bend in the center of the plate to compensate for varying neck circumference. Nothing holding still. Just fighting for every inch of fret being polished. But I did it. Polished all of the playable frets. Stringed up and instantly knew as soon as I began to play that this was worth the effort and frustration. It doesn't have to be that difficult to polish the frets with a couple simple adjustments to the routine as follows. Current polish routine. Remove strings. Set up a small kneeling meditation stool that leans slightly forward. With the stool angled toward me I rest the edge of the guitar on the kneeling stool. This reduced the rocking considerably. Then placing the slotted fretboard protector plate on the fret with a small open space at the end of the slot. Pinch the plate at the edge of the fretboard using the guitar neck to rest your hand don't worry about the handle. This allows enough pressure to be applied to the plate to remain flush with the board. The gap at the end allows for some guitar body movement and polishing pressure without jumping up off of the fret. I like using old white t shirt rather than the provided black rag. Maybe the black rag could be quicker? But it won't really reveal the black tarnish because it is black. Short version. Use a folded up blanket and pillow to rest the guitar on the floor securely witouut rocking. Pinch the plate with a gap open at the far end. Rest hand with plate on fretboard edge. Polish. Oil board. Replace strings. Amaze yourself with instant joy. The fretboard oil revealed to me for the first time that I have wood grain on my ebony fretboard. Who knew? It turns out that there is something better than lemon oil or Old English furniture polish. It is this stuff. It seems to be a very clean and well refined oil. I have upped my game. Up yours 👍

GUITAR CARE YOU DIDN'T KNOW YOU NEEDED!
I need to give my cousin credit who's also a guitarist for recommending this product to me. He plays an archtop electric and I have an acoustic Martin. He was raving about the difference cleaning up his fretboard made, so I decided to give it a try. After removing the strings I went to work, polishing the frets and the space between them. I hadn't realized the extent of the buildup on the fretboard. The whole process took less than an hour and you could notice a real improvement in the appearance of the fretboard. Even better, I found playing to be notably easier and smoother, like having a new guitar. I'm delighted to say that, for a few dollars, I've found something that adds to the enjoyment of playing and will help keep my instrument in great shape. I plan on using this product on a regular basis, perhaps every 6 to 12 months. Highly recommended!

Maintenance Essentials
I used this kit on a BC Rich Virgin that has been in storage for over 10 years. The guitar world has evolved tremendously since my days of being in the scene. This kit comes with just about everything you need to safely rehab or maintain a guitar or bass. The fret shields does not keep the fret polish off of the fretboards effectively. I ended up taping most of my frets (1-17) and used the shield over the tape to help minimize the mess. I started from the bottom fret and worked my way up. Despite getting some polish on the fret board it did not damage it. I quickly wiped it off and periodically wiped off the top and bottom of the shield. The polish works best when worked in with some serious elbow grease. One could use the polish in a rotary tool (dremel) polishing wheel for effortless oxidation removal. I used this on every metal component. It did a great on of removing oxidaron from the bridge, humbucker pickup magnet (dots) and even black oxide attachment hardware surface rust. Again, if carefully used with a polishing wheel, life should be muuuuch easier. After the the frets were polished, I removed the tape I used on frets 1 through 12 then applied the oil and let it work it’s way in for about 7 minutes to help hydrate the distressed wood. The wood seem to like the non-lemon oil based product. Overall, this kit is impressive. It worked wonders for my guitar. I have another guitar that is the same shape as this one and I will definitely employ three use of the rotary tool to work the polish on the frets.

中身は歯磨き粉のような液。 錆の付けているフレットを磨くと、見えるほどすぐキラキラになった。 良いです。

I was somewhat skeptical at first as I have a few guitars I've only done "swipe" cleaning on the fretboards so a few literally have decades of build up and I've never cleaned the frets. These instruments have been played a lot. I was blown away with how well the fret boards are cleaned. The literally look like new and the "finger gunk" is completely remove, the fret board colour is totally restored. Fret cleaning went very well too, immediately noticeable difference and shiny results. My biggest joy was, not a lot of work. The product works very quickly and doesn't take a lot of effort even on boards that have decades of accumulation. Will be using this now a couple of times a year. I'd like to do it after every string change, but I change strings frequently, sometimes once a month if I'm playing heavily and I just want to get the instrument setup with new strings quickly. But definitely a couple of times a year. The fret cleaner squirts out very easily so be careful or you'll get a large gush and waste cleaner. I highly recommend, it will make your instrument look like new.
