Like many, we have purchased several umbrellas that have disappointed in their quality and longevity. We decided to purchase two of these. Delivery was quick and we are very pleased with the quality and build. To use, remove from the holder, unravel the velcro tie and push the button in the handle. The spring-assisted opening is instant,and strong, so please avoid opening in close proximity to another person. If you are inclined, you can assist the opening speed by partially dampening the opening by pressure on the top. A bonus of the effort necessary to close the umbrella should be deemed as a comfortable physical exercise for the arms and chest! But, that displays the strength of the mechanism, and is supported by a lifetime warranty. I am clearly at that age now where I only buy quality items and I cannot stand sending poor quality items to landfill any longer. I purchased this umbrella in a week of constant rain so it really got its use. It feels excellent quality, the button is easy to use in terms of getting the umbrella up quickly. It functions well, has kept me dry, and has even withstood some pretty strong winds and hasn’t folded or buckled in anyway. The metal frame seems more reinforced than most compact umbrellas. The fact that there is a lifetime guarantee for this product makes it excellent value for money. I appreciate the thoughtful design and letter from the founder. My only notes for people to consider are these: this is significantly heavier in weight than any other umbrella I’ve owned, so it might not be suitable for anyone older or frail or with accessibility issues. I also have difficulty getting it down as you have to push quite hard to reduce the length and get it to lock back into the handle. As it is stronger and fairly large, it is also not as compact as I am used to. For me, these are things I can compromise on for an umbrella that withstands the crazy storms we get here, but I thought I would mention it for anyone considering purchasing who may have strength issues.

Excellent product. Smart appearance, robust and fully fit for purpose. I had a problem getting used to the opening and closing mechanism when I began to use this and emailed the supplier for help. I received prompt advice and have enjoyed using the umbrella ever since. Highly recommended.

Very well and nicely packaged. Good quality umbrella and looks great. Same canopy size as many other brollies I've had before and great overall size and is just a bit heavier. Good handle grip and great strap to keep canopy folded down. You can feel the strength of it's sturdy ribs and springs when you close the umbrella . It's far superior to any other brolly I've ever had and amazing value for the price. It's great to buy one knowing it's going to last.

This umbrella is such good quality especially for the price. Nice colours to choose from. Good size, dries quickly and easy to put up and down, what more could you want!

The umbrella is a really good size and does hold up against winds, that others would flip and break with. We have 2 different designs of them and would definitely buy again and have recommended these to loads of people. After 18 months of use this design of umbrella developed a fault with it's opening mechanism. I contacted Tumella and their customer service was excellent. Polite, friendly and quick to respond and send out a replacement, which is excellent. So pleased. In a day in age when customer service is not great and companies usually try to avoid upholding their promises, I can say that Tumella is a breath of fresh air, they honour their product warrantee and are really helpful. Described as Strong - Windproof - Compact - Superior - Beautiful. Reality after just two uses in light rain and a very light wind. Strong? Yes, I cannot put it down without wrestling with it, even though I am following the exact instructions. It is without a doubt, the worst umbrella I have ever had with regard to that. Windproof? NO. The slightest touch of wind causes the umbrella to blow inside out. Compact? Yes, if I can put it down to get it back in the bag. Superior? No. I have had much cheaper brollies that work better by miles, and much, much better expensive windproof ones. Beautiful. Yes, I have the one with the flowers on the inside and it is a lovely umbrella to look at. One of the best in fact that I have owned. Other thoughts. Smaller than I expected. Not much cover overhead in the rain. Opens with a touch of the button which is very hard to do. You have to press down really hard. Supposed to close with the touch of a button as well. Yes, but the same as when opening, really hard. Whilst this will close the canopy, it still requires two hands to push it back down (you have to close it together by pressing hard at both ends, which mean your hands get wet if it is raining. Doesn't fit easily back into the outside cover, so if it is wet you need to bring an extra carrier bag to pop it inside as it will make everything else you have with you dripping wet. Do I regret spending almost twenty pounds on this? You bet. Fortunately I have kept the card that came with this umbrella. I shall be contacting the manufacturer with regard to all the claims. I might even ask for my money back! Would I buy it again? NO. UPDATE: After reviewing this umbrella I was contacted by a representative for the seller and offered a full refund, and a replacement Umbrella which was identical to the one I had purchased. The refund and umbrella arrived at lightening speed and throughout this communication I was supported at every opportunity. I used the new Umbrella yesterday in similar conditons for the first time, and was met with the same problems. It is such a shame as the customer service is by far the best I think I have ever received, and the standards are so high, I really wanted to be able to update this and say I had a much better experience. It is really important to me to support a young company, particularly one which is trying so hard to offer the very best product and service. The quality of the materials used and the beautiful appearance of the umbrellas are just two examples of that. My own opinon is that because of the design, this umbrella is less likely to break in the wind so perhaps that is what they meant by the description 'windproof'. It is suitable for a typical wet day, if you don't mind the struggle with putting it back down, as it works in that respect, however, it blows out whenever it encounters a light breeze and this seems to be down to the overall design of the product. Perhaps this just needs a slight adjustment. They are almost there with the quality of the materials and the customer service and ethos of the company. A lifetime guarantee is offered. I am grateful for the support, refund and replacement and wish them well.

This product is very good and I will recommend it.

The umbrella looks nice, feels well built, and easy to use. Have used in sunny, windy, and rainy conditions - does a good job. A tiny amount of water gets through the wind vents under extremely heavy rain, but this can be mitigated by holding the umbrella at a steady angle. So far it's a reasonable compromise considering how well it's holding up during heavy rain and wind.

I’ve had this umbrella for almost 2 years and it hasn’t let me down yet. It’s held up through plenty of heavy rain & windy days and is still going strong - very sturdy & reliable. And very attractive. I even purchased a second one for my sister.
