Goku—the strongest fighter on the planet—is all that stands between humanity and villains from the darkest corners of space. Review: Bruce Faulconer soundtrack option included - This is great! A few things to note: To have it play with the Bruce Faulconer composition, you have to go into the setup screen and change the audio to the second choice, "American [something]". It has 3 choices of audio. And there is also a "Marathon play" option that plays every episode in the disk while skipping all of the recap and openers after the first one. It's the original art style, with your choice of audio composition. I got it as a gift for a DBZ fan and they melted when they found out it had the Bruce Faulconer composition because they thought that that version had been lost and discontinued. Review: Perfect condition; Came with ALL discs - At first I was hesitant to purchase this item due to the negative reviews about not receiving all of the discs and general wear of the box. But, I decided to buy it as I couldn't pass it up! So I gave it a chance, as I am a hesitant online shopper. The package also arrived on time, technically earlier than I expected! After opening the package, the DBZ blu-ray box set was in perfect condition inside. I followed the advice of people in the reviews and checked the boxes and each individual disc for repeats or mistakes. ALL CORRECT DISCS ARE IN THE BOX SET!!! If you're hesitant to purchase due to the reviews, I want to let you know that it came perfect for me and I am EXTREMELY happy with my purchase. Those reviews about the wrong discs were in 2018. As of 2021, I have experienced zero issues. As for the Dragon Ball Z Blu-ray Box Set itself, it also exceeded my expectations. I was also hesitant after reading about quality issues with the remaster and lost details. While I can see what they are talking about, it does not look bad to me at all. The show is from 1996 and was originally in 4:3 ratio, there is only so much remastering that can be done besides remaking the whole show. For a show that old, I am very impressed with the quality and how well it translated over to 16:9. Mainly I have noticed softening of the painted backgrounds, but you can't avoid this when getting rid of the "noise" or "grain" in the picture. Some early episodes also have a slight "shake" in certain scenes, but once again that is due to how the show was made in the 1990s. None of these "quality" details affected my viewing experience. I also wanted to note how cool I think the menu screen is. It's a series of landscape shots from the show that translate between the old look of the show in 4:3, and the remastered look in 16:9 set to a cool beat. I wasn't expecting the menu screen to be anything more than a picture with the usual "Play," "Menu," and "Set-up" buttons, so I was very impressed. If you love DBZ, don't have enough money for a Dragon Box, and prefer HD 16:9 vs the old school look, definitely get this set!!

DBZ at its finest (Bruce Faulconer confirmed)
-This is a review of the Blu-ray version- This is the single greatest remaster I have seen for Dragon Ball Z for a few reasons It is superior to the "orange brick" set in every way The picture quality and aspect ratio has been updated to play on modern HD televisions, eliminating graininess and shake, the color pallet has been broadened and blurry background details have been sharpened/brought into focus. The title menu is very simple and user friendly, in addition to being much nicer visually than the "orange bricks" The Blu-ray sets are much more compact, only having 36 discs versus 54/56 for the DVD sets. The Blu-ray set takes up about half as much space compared to the "orange bricks". If you are craving the epic Bruce Faulconer experience have no fear, his score enters the set in episode 68 of season two and continues through the rest of the series. The only criticism I have is they did away with the heavy rock/synth intros and outros, and replaced them with something much more tame. The into is just ok and the outro sucks in my opinion. It detracts from the experience but not enough for me to detract a star. -WARNING- Some buyers have recieved their sets with shattered disc cases, or ended up with the wrong discs in one of their cases (season 4 disc in a season 5 case) so be sure to open each case when you recieve your set to make sure everything is right. If bought through Amazon they will ship you a replacement ASAP If you've always wanted to own a DBZ set you will not be disappointed. THANK YOU FUNIMATION

One of the best versions I've ever owned, it has the whole DBZ story and has choices of original Japanese, original English broadcast or he improved digital version for sound. I think it still has the added film grain but it doesn't seem as harsh and fake looking as previous versions. I live in England and it works on my 4k player, standard blu-ray player and playstation. so that worry can be put to rest if you worried you cant play it. I hope this helps you.
