Review: 400 years of reading Shakespeare - It is quite evident that the editors of the Arden series know their stuff. It is refreshing also that they are not obsessive Freudian contortionists. A great good read.

I was looking the play over the other day and comparing it to another version from The New Cambridge Shakespeare. I noticed that there was a difference in the dialogue starting at 1.2 -- in the ardens version they have Celia saying "And would you yet were merrier." Whereas in The New Cambridge Shakespeare that line is actually part of Rosalind's dialogue. I looked at another version of The Complete Works Of Shakespeare by Doubleday which was printed in the mid-30s and it follows the The New Cambridge Version. I believe the NCS version is correct. I was just wondering if there might be other dialogue out of place since this happened so early in the play. I'll have to keep an eye on it while looking at the NCS or other versions to see if there are any more.

Finally, the third series AYL
Over the years, despite the fact that The Riverside Shakespeare is my primary course text, I've found the third series Arden paperbacks as an indispensable source for my college-level Shakespeare classes (the second series versions, of course, feature an older and often quite out-of-date understanding of the criticism and characters). As You Like It is one play that I teach consistently, semester by semester, so I was naturally very pleased when this volume arrived. It does not disappoint: the introductory material is superb and, as always, the notes quite helpful. Viva Rosalind!

I wish they’d teach more of Shakespeare’s comedies
Super enjoyable story! The footnotes are especially helpful.

Lots and lots of notes and context. Good if you're studying. If you just want the play txt you could probably get a cheaper edition.

In good shape, came quickly. Arden editions are the most actor friendly by far. Helpful footnotes, useful essays, and the editors stay true to the original folios.
