Click WA222 3-Terminal Electrical Junction Box, Brown

Bought this to extend a 40a cooker circuit. It's huge with good wire clamps and quality contact screws. Now lives above the ceiling and under floorboards. Good value, well designed, easy to install, sturdy and long lasting. I am a skilled electrical mechanical engineer by profession and was an on screen expert for BBC Watchdog and Rogue Traders for some years and subsequently sworn to honesty. I tend to research a product drilling down into the quality and value of the item before I buy. I am not paid for my reviews and have no personal gain from them. I have no difficulty recommending this item. What's not to like. Go buy!

Why did you choose this product over others?: Looked good quality

I have been relocating my computer and bought a Tower Style extension as the 10 socket flat one I had caused problems with things like Adaptors and power supplies that interfere with each other due to the sockets being so close . For some reason I cant review it but the 2 M flex wasn't long enough so I bought this junction box as it looked easier to use compared to the usual round ones.with the straight through connectors and it can be fixed to the skirting board near the mains socket .It is well made and excellent value .

This is perhaps a little heavier duty than I needed for my fat-twin-and-earth 10mmsq cable, but it did the job well. I think it would take 16mmsq quite easily. The only problem is the cable clamp which has difficulty clamping a heavy cable, though it worked OK when I turned it upside down. I also had a curious problem which confused me a bit for a while as the screws for the cable clamps on the two boxes I bought were of slightly different diameters! I suspect the design was altered slightly between the two boxes. Not a problem once I'd worked it out, but tricky for a bit up a ladder in a dark place! Maybe the box could have been slightly narrower with benefit too, as there is a bit of wasted space inside it and it is quite bulky - it could have been rectangular rather than oval. But it worked for me. All in all this is a well-made, solid junction box and did the job well.

Bought this to extend 6mm shower cable.Good sturdy box with heavy duty terminals. Plenty of room for cable and double screw on terminal block ensures good tight connection. Is quite large but ok if using in loft or out of sight. Would recommend.

Junction box itself is very good, although the screws for the wire clamps could be better - one snapped off and the other had a stripped head. Plastic is coloured brown not black like the picture, not a problem as the box is out of sight, just being informative.

Needed to join two sets of 6mm cable into one 6mm cable. I wasn't able to find anything in the shops which allowed enough space within the box/terminal connectors to do this. This junction box has more than adequate room to allow three cables to be connected on each side of the terminal connector, the box itself seems to be fairly heavy duty and easily wall mountable with countersunk screws. The cable clamps within the junction box did struggle a bit with two sets of 6mm cable because the screws which are provided are too short and the cable clamp doesn't have enough flex in it.
