Great lens.
Really pleased so far. Item handed to me by driver which was great, as normally items are dropped over the unlocked gates. Not had time to completely play with the lens yet, but what I have taken is clear and accurate. Good lens.

Great lens. Compact, macro is useful. Expensive but it's to be expected.

Genuine Lens at a great price
I was concerned that this was a grey import since the lens was several hundred cheaper than from other retailers. Just finished the product registration with Sony and all is good. Happy with the purchase 👍

Amazing Quality but Expensive
Lighter than the old model, and sharper - at most lengths. Autofocus is snappy and accurate. Again, feels more assured than the old model. Feels very nice to use. However, at £1.749 while the old one is selling for almost £1,000 less, it seems over-priced. Buy the older version or wait for the price to drop.

A great lens but just too expensive to justify. Shouldn’t be any more than £900 max!

Fantastic lens
I was thinking of buying this for a long time and when I saw this on the wearhouse I had to purchase. It's a fantastic lens. Works really well and the macro is such a nice addition. I very rarely use my 50 mm prime anymore.

A stunning quality, relatively small lens for travel and events
I own the first version of the 70mm to 200mm f2.8 gmaster lens but I bought this one because I wanted something lighter with amazing autofocus and macro. Stunning quality results, high contrast and very sharp.

Cet objectif SONY offre un ensemble de qualités qui lui font valoir largement son prix. Il a une construction irréprochable, une qualité d'image superbe, un autofocus très rapide et précis, une stabilisation au top, un poids contenu et une versatilité très appréciable gràce à son rapport de grossissement de 1:2 sur toute la plage focale qui permet de rentrer dans le monde de la proxiphoto et de la macro photographie. Je l'ai associé à un boîtier SONY A7CR et les résultats sont bluffants, les 61M de pixels ne lui font pas peur. C'est vraiment une très belle optique.

Hormis un prix un peu décourageant, cet objectif est quasi parfait. Léger, compact, autofocus au top, fonction macro (1/2) intéressante (peut éviter d'acheter un objectif dédié si on pratique occasionnellement la macro photographie). Bref, un bon achat !

If you are someone who shoots both photo and video, and you want super sharp, vibrant shots without lugging around a massive f/2.8 Sony lens — this one totally delivers. What is super cool is the macro capability — totally unexpected, but such a nice bonus. It’s not exactly cheap, but you are getting top-tier quality, reliable performance, and pro-level glass all packed into a compact body. Autofocus is ultra fast and silent. Stabilization, super steady. If you are rocking a Sony E-mount camera and want a lens that can pretty much do it all, this one is a no-brainer.
