Using a normal walking stick was painful and when I wobbled, my stick wasn't always enough as my wrist could not always take the strain. I bought these as a test, thinking that if they worked, I might buy a more expensive pair, but these have been great. Much less pain when using a stick. With these the weight is no longer going through my wrist. I am more stable, with less worry, and much more comfortable using the crutch as a stick replacement. I also added 25mm Flexyfoot Crutch Ferrules (https://www.desertcart.co.uk/gp/product/B08JZGP8SG), which make it more comfortable and stable when using the crutches. A brilliant combination. I keep one in the car, and the other in the house, so I always have one with me. Not as far as I know. I'm quite handy & like to 'pimp up' my walking aids with colourful spray paint etc. I was able to use the original plastic cover as a pattern to make a variety of covers to match my outfit & the weather. EG: in the summer when my lower arm is exposed to the sweaty plastic original cover, I have some made out of Disney hand towels -ÂĢ1 from ÂĢ shop. The problem is that the original cover is attached to the webbing of the strap that goes over your forearm. I haven't removed the original cover as I'm worried that it may compromise the stability of the crutch. It would certainly invalidate any guarantee. So I sew of that non-slip roll (available very cheaply online-useful for so many things) onto the underside to help to stop it slipping around under my arm. Although the crutch is rather top heavy, the weight is taken on your forearm & it's so much better than a traditional crutch that puts all your body weight though your am onto your wrist & then your thumb joint. After years of using a crutch - Ouch! **Q: I have only received one crutch in the box so returned and reordered but the same crutch x 1 has been resent?? They can be set at a large range of heights, I am 5'11 and still have a few notches to spare. My nerve damage is not exacerbated by these crutches, so what more can I ask for?!
