Waykar Max 80 Pint/D(Standard 62Pint/D) Energy Star Home Dehumidifier for Spaces up to 5,000 Sq. Ft, Ideal for Basement, Bathroom and Large Room with Drain Hose, Portable, Auto Defrost and Self-Drying

I purchased the dehumidifier in Mar 2024. First of all, the way the machine was packaged for shipping showed me Waykar's excellence in product handling. Then, the design is attractive, the handle and wheels make moving it super easy and the bucket with removable lid keeps me from spilling. The Auto Defrost and Self Drying features make this model the best. And most importantly, the unit is QUIET, efficient and quickly reduces the humidity to the desired level.

This is my second Waykar dehumidifier. I had some minor problems with the first one and contacted customer support. They asked for more information and once I sent it, they gave me 2 replacement options, each was acceptable to me. Customer service was great. This current unit works well. It is currently removing about 2 gallons of water a day (we live in the South where it’s very humid). It has dropped the humidity in our home to where we want it. It’s compact and on low fan, it is very quiet, high speed is louder but not too loud for us. There are multiple drain options, I chose to use a mini split ac condensate pump because of my drain locations, emptying it multiple times a day just doesn’t work for us. Would definitely consider Waykar again.

This unit worked flawlessly for about two years and then started freezing over. Granted, it does have the auto defrost feature but even with it running it just wasn’t pulling the same amount of water it used to. It used to pull enough water that I had to empty it about twice a day, now it’s about once a week. The temp and humidity hasn’t changed drastically in my house so it seems that something stopped working or a sensor is off. I contacted customer support and they totally earn a 5-star. Quick and responsive and were more than willing to make things right. I would give 5-stars but the unit not functioning after pretty much two summers is a bummer. If it weren’t for the excellent customer service, this would get not a great review. The unit is great and there is a reasonable chance I did something to cause it to malfunction but I did follow the cleaning and care procedures, so who knows…

This dehumidifier is small and mighty. It takes up a small space but manages to pull a lot of water out of our home in a very humid climate. It moves around easily with the handle and the humidity level can be adjusted. It's also the quietest dehumidifier. We had some issues with ours but contacted customer service and they were prompt and helpful to find a solution.

I purchased the YDZ-120 on January 13, 2025. Living in California, I normally didn’t have to worry much about humidity. However, after switching my dryer ventilation to indoor exhaust due to an issue with the laundry vent, I started experiencing high humidity inside my home. That’s when I decided to buy this product. the prices are reasonable. Before using the dehumidifier, the indoor humidity level was over 60%. After using it, I had a dramatic improvement, with humidity dropping to around 40–45%. I typically ran the unit for about 4 to 5 hours, and by the next day, the water tank would be full. It consistently collected about one full tank per day, which showed strong and effective performance. The noise level is noticeable, but not unbearable. However, after about a year of use, I encountered an issue. The amount of water collected dropped to less than one-fifth of what it used to be. At first, I thought I had made a mistake, but the same problem continued for about a month. I then checked the warranty and contacted customer service. I was genuinely impressed with their response and support. They replied within one or two days and provided a clear and helpful solution. Honestly, I didn’t expect such a positive resolution for a product that had already been used for about a year. Overall, I was very impressed by both the product’s performance and the high level of customer service. Based on this experience, I would be willing to use this product again and give it a strong recommendation.

I’ve been using the Waykar YDZ-120 Dehumidifier in my home for six months now, and I’m genuinely impressed with its performance and reliability. This unit has been a great solution to keeping moisture under control in larger spaces like our home in a very humid part of the country. First off, it does an excellent job of removing humidity - rated to take out up to 120 pints and cover areas up to 6,000 sq ft - and it noticeably lowered the dampness and musty odour in our home. I found it especially effective during humid evenings, and it maintains a comfortable air quality without constantly running. Operation is smooth and user-friendly. The controls have a clear display, and the option for continuous drainage via the included hose means I don't have to worry about emptying the tank daily. One thing I particularly appreciate is how quiet it runs compared to other dehumidifiers I’ve used. Even when in a common area, it doesn’t distract from normal activities around the house. The design and mobility are also solid making it easy to move around the house as needed. And because it’s Energy Star certified it does its job without significantly raising my electric bill. Pros: Very effective at reducing humidity Easy to use with great features like continuous drainage and auto-defrost Quiet operation Warranty offered by manufacturer for 12 months. When contacted, Waykar responds quickly and effectively. Cons: Unfortunately, after 6 months, the unit stopped collecting water. Reason unknown. Overall: Waykar responded to our issue immediately, honoured the warranty, and is replacing the unit at no charge to us. We are very pleased with the manufacturer and would recommend any Waykar product.

I live in a two-story house with a basement walk out level. My house is air conditioned, but I always had a problem with the humidity level building up in the basement during the hotter rainier months. This caused a musty smell as well as a little mold and mildew forming here and there on some surfaces. I bought a Waykar YDZ-120 to help me solve this problem. I was surprised at the amount of water this product was removing from the air in the basement. It wasn’t long before the humidity was less than 50% and has remained under control. Through humidity reduction and control, the musty smell and any mold and mildew problems were mitigated. Having the Waykar dehumidifier controlling the basement humidity also helped control the humidity in the rest of the house. My AC unit doesn’t have to work quite as hard with some humidity control assistance from the Waykar. My house is more comfortable on every level now. The Waykar YDZ-120 dehumidifier worked so well in my house that I bought another one for use in my woodworking hobby shop. My shop is not air conditioned so during the hotter rainier months the humidity can get quite high and hover in the 65% to 75% range. Not only does the high humidity make it more uncomfortable for me to work, but it also caused rusting problems on my tools and power equipment. The cast iron on my table saw, jointer and planer and even my hand planes were always developing surface rust. Mildew and mold were also forming on my steel tool boxes and other surfaces. It has been my personal experience that rusting, mildew and mold no longer occurs in my shop when I keep the humidity level under 50%. My Waykar dehumidifier is set to automatically maintain a 40% to 45% humidity level which has eliminated my rust, mildew and mold issues and makes it so much more comfortable and healthier for me to work in my shop too. • I like the fact that the Waykar TDZ-120 is “Energy Star” certified. This means it uses less energy and works considerably more efficiently than non-certified dehumidifiers. • It like the “Inside-Drying” feature which when activated automatically dries out the dehumidifier coils to help mitigate any internal mold formation. • I like the 1 gallon internal removable water drain tank with carrying handle that allows me to use the dehumidifier at any location in my house. The Waykar will automatically shut off when the tank is full and alert me via the control panel display that the tank needs to be emptied. I can also attach a drain hose to the unit for continuous drainage via my floor drain in the basement. • I like the “High Low” fan setting feature. I set it on high to get the humidity lowered to the desired level and then switch to low to quietly maintain the desired humidity. • I like the “Child Lock” feature to keep the curious grandkids from messing with the setting when they come over for a visit. When activated fan speed, mode and humidity settings are locked. • I like the internal ‘Air Filter” which is easily removable, washable and helps keep the dehumidifier coils clean, so they work at maximum efficiency. A fine nylon mesh is attached to the removable panel that works well as the filter. • I like the fact that Waykar dehumidifiers come with a 1 year warranty but they will extend the warranty to 2 years simply by going on-line and registering your purchase. • I like that if you email Waykar Tech Support with a problem, concern or question they are very responsive. J’ai acheté le déshumidificateur Waykar 80 «pints» modèle YDZ-80. Il a été commandé le 30 septembre et livré le 2 octobre. Bravo Amazon!!!!!. J’ai attendu au 3 octobre pour le mettre en marche pour m’assurer que le fluide caloporteur soit bien à sa place. Ce déshumidificateur remplace un vieux Sunbeam. Déjà en le déballant je m’aperçois que bien qu’il soit de la même taille, ce Waykar est au moins 30% moins lourd. Bravo Waykar!!!. Depuis qu’il a été mis en marche, l’appareil a réussi à abaisser le taux d’humidité de la maison (3500) pi2 de 66% à 49% en 3 jours et le maintenir entre 45% et 50% avec un minimum d’énergie. Quelle différence fait cet appareil «EnergyStar». Photo 1. Le panneau de contrôle rend l’appareil très simple à utiliser (photo 2). On peut même le faire fonctionner sur un horaire programmé pour être utilisé la nuit quand le coût de l’électricité est plus faible. Combiné avec la fonction arrêt-départ automatique quand le niveau d’humidité requis est atteint, on utilise une énergie minimale pour le maintien d’un taux d’humidité confortable. L’option d’un drainage continu de l’eau est aussi très «cool» (photo 3-4). Plus besoin de surveiller le niveau d’eau accumulé dans le bac et de le vider régulièrement De plus, le filtre est très accessible pour le nettoyage (photo 5). Donc, jusqu’à maintenant je suis très satisfait du rendement de l’appareil.

Super performant

This little unit seems to be running great. Quieter than my old dehumidifyer. Its been running for a couple days now and already my basment smells way better. No more must and no longer damp. Very happy with the purchase so far.

I bought this dehumidifier last May after reading reviews. I used it to keep my basement dry during humid summers we experience here and the unit performed well with no issues. The control panel allows you to set it up to best suit your needs. Instead of emptying the bucket, I opted to connect a hose to the drain port on the back so it drained continuously. I was very pleased at the job it did all summer long, which is the only season I use it. This May when I turned it back on, it did not register a correct humidity level and therefore would not function. When I contacted customer service, they were prompt in their response and offered to replace the unit. Clearly, they stand behind what they sell, no messing around. For those looking for a good dehumidifier from a reputable company look no further.

After 3 days use only. Fan moves a lot of air, circulating a large room very well, and noticeably quieter than my older one. Simple to unbox and use.
