I contacted Waykar Customer Service who responded within 12-hours. While I was pleasantly surprised with their quick response, I was even more surprised and pleased that this response time was the standard and not the exception throughout the remainder of my correspondence with the Agents. Each email was signed by the Customer Service Agent so when I responded, I was able to address the agent by name and more often than not, the same Agent responded so I didn’t have to restart the conversation with a new Agent. While the Agent offered to replace the unit without any hesitation, I had found that the 50-pint dehumidifier was not sufficiently powerful enough to dry the lower level room I was using it for so I asked the Agent if they would be willing to let me pay the difference for a larger unit. This dehumidifier looks good... but we were EXTREMELY disappointed that you couldn't use a regular hose for the continuous drain function. A flimsy plastic tube comes with the unit for continuous draining... and it is not NEARLY long enough to do any good. You can't simply hook up a garden hose... there is no standard garden hose fitting on the unit. You can ONLY use the flimsy short plastic tube that comes with the unit. We tried multiple "fixes" to make it work, but all of our efforts were in vain. I would not buy this dehumidifier again simply for this reason alone. POOR engineering! **Q: Even if the hose is connected, it is connected to manual drain How can I get it to connect with a hose?** A: For mine I had to unscrew the cap to the drain AND then remove a small black rubber plug which blends in too well (which I missed at first) then hook up the drain hose. Then it went to continuous drain without problems and there is no water in the bucket. **Q: Makes a loud noise and the case was cracked. What should I do ? when it arrived** A: Mine wasn’t damaged and isn’t loud. It must have happened during shipping. I would contact the returns department where you purchased it. I’m sure they would make this right. You would be very pleased with it if it wasn’t damaged I’m sure because it works great. **Q: Will this dehumidifier cover the whole house?** A: Depends on how big the house is. We live in the Midwest and use this in our lower level utility room to keep humidity levels down. Work great when paired with air exchanger to maintain air quality in our home. Waykar is not a brand I recognized, but seem to be on par with or better than traditional appliance brands.
