It makes doing front end alignment toe in adjustments easy as ever thanks to its flat profile, and write on space on the back of the measure itself to accurately write down measurements as you take them, and the tape is very clearly marked and can be written on as well, and it comes off with a regular eraser or a little bit of Windex which I find just plain old cool ! So, if you are in the market for a really good new style tape even if you are just cutting a couple of 2x4's, this is the tape measure you've been waiting for ! Thank you to the folks at Craftsman for a very high quality tool at a good price we can all afford. ### ⭐⭐ This Craftsman sidewinder is a great idea and design *by M***R on October 27, 2017* This Craftsman sidewinder is a great idea and design. When I first noticed these tapes I thought, wow that's a great idea no more tape measure falling over. And being a Craftsman I thought I'd be getting great quality as well. And that's where I was wrong. Initial feel when you pick it up is quite frankly "cheap". But it also does not perform well either. The tape measure has an auto lock feature, yet the lock is not strong enough to hold the tape fast. When you pull the tape out it immediately retracts back in several inches before finally stopping, or maybe it isn't done retracting, you cannot predict if it will move again or not. And a very slight push on the tape will allow it to scoot all the way in. The locking mechanism is made out of cheap thin plastic, I am 100% certain if I tried to use this product daily the cheap lock would be completely broken within a year if it lasts that long even. For me, this is absolutely a deal breaker. My tape must remain where I extend it to, period. No markings on the tape measure stating where it's made (I discarded the packaging without looking at it) but it's gotta be China. This product may work well enough for around the house occasional use, but if you're a professional who uses tape measures daily, do yourself a favor and pass on this one. I knew it didn't come with a belt clip, but I got it anyway in hopes I could add a home made one. Turns out I couldn't make it work. Too big to go in jeans pocket and too heavy to put in shirt pocket. But if you need a good tape that won't tip over (which is this tapes main selling point), get it.
