Lost soul
Loved it, insightful look into any winehouse life , her childhood up to her superstar status, and her battles with booze and drugs, a delicate soul, who just wanted to share her music, and to be loved! Miss you Amy ❤️

too rambling
Needs proof reading ! Rather too much irrelevant detail imho. Also chronologically jumbled at times. Could have been much more tightly written.

So many errors
Fairly interesting but so many spelling, grammatical and factual errors that it became irritating to read. Did anyone proofread this book?

Not the best book on Amy- poorly researched
I found this book to be littered with spelling mistakes, factually incorrect at times and just downright disappointing. The author appears to have badly researched Amy throughout and every rap artist she randomly compares her to. FYI- DMX is a rap artist not a rap group! I would suggest if you are interested in learning more about the late Amy Winehouse to invest in her father Mitch Winehouse's book or for an unbiased view Daphne Barak's book as these will both offer you a far superior insight into Amy's life.

Out of the many Amy Winehouse biographies available. Something drew my eye to this one and I’m a better person for reading it. Thank You Chole and Thank You Amy

This was a dreadful piece of work. I stopped reading it after three chapters. Before I go further, I must say I am a huge fan of Amy Winehouse's music. I cried the night I learned of her death; I'd never cried at news of a celebrity's death before and I haven't cried at any celebrity's death since. Anyone seeking depth and insight into the life of this brilliant, young tortured artist should instead watch the incredibly well-done, brutally honest 2015 bio-pic titled simply Amy. In my opinion, all Ms.Govan has done (which will become evident to any discerning reader, especially one who knew details of Amy's life already) is to pull together a "biography" (I use that word loosely) based entirely on articles others have written and news stories. The book appears to have been pulled together in haste by somebody wanting to make a quick buck while Amy's death was still fresh news. There are numerous spelling errors, grammatical errors and clumsy sentences that should make any serious writer cringe.

Even at the age of 53 years old I fell in love with Amy's music around 2007. It took a while, at first, for her songs to grow on me......but they did in a very profound way. I realized how she threw her whole being into her music. The book is insightful and reveals a lot about Amy's personality, the heartaches and her addictions.
