No, no vibration at all - just beeping.

No worries. It's a wristwatch. It's huge - as it should be to make have a quick look easy, but it's a watch (with a band). Good luck and many happy XC rounds.

Q: Is the Optimum Time "event watch" different from the "sailing watch"?

I’m not certain. They look the same, but I’m not sure if they have the same features. This one is used in XC to make sure the rider does not finish too fast or too slow.
