The armor looks pretty cool but aside from that, I don't see much more benefit. The cooling benefits are negligible at best I assume but you do get some thermal sensors with the armor kit as well as a small motherboard fan too so if you use ASUS' AI suite to monitor temps and control things on the mobo, the sensors give you an extra bit of monitoring of that stuff.Also, I guess for those who want a customized look, the armor could be powdercoated a unique color to set your system off in the looks dept.Lastly, the armor covers up the BIOS battery. Normally I would consider that a problem, particularly in trying to reset the bios to get a system back up and running but it seems like most motherboards now either have a bios reset switch or if you have an unsuccessful overclock, will simply boot into an error on the POST telling you to go back to the BIOS and fix it instead of just a black screen.Overall, I'm glad they package this separately and if you buy a gryphon board from newegg, you get the armor for free so that cost savings over the Sabertooth are justified. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great addition to the Z97 Gryphon Motherboard *by J***N on Reviewed in the United States on August 18, 2016* This was a steal when the rebate was available. It installed effortlessly on the Z97 Gryphon motherboard.I replaced the fan with a Noctua fan but had to do a little sanding (modding) to get it to fit right. The replacement Noctua fan was much quieter than the stock fan.The Armor Kit definitely makes the motherboard more aesthetically pleasing. The I/O cover plate is a must for today's motherboards especially for those that have a side panel window. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Lovely add on kit *by D***Z on Reviewed in the United States on June 28, 2014* I purchased this for the Asus Gryphon z97 - the updated version of the board this kit was designed for. According to a web search - it is supposed to fit - and it does.It is exactly as advertised - a metal plate to attach to the back of the motherboard to "stiffen" it up to prevent damage while supporting oversized/weight components, a large plastic dust shield/component protector for the front, and a bunch of dust covers for every port and connector on the board. Assembly was fairly simple, and component quality was excellent - as is usual for ASUS.It appears to do what is on the box, and looks sharp in my new case.
