Absolutely Great
Definitely enjoying every moment playing and learning its various functions. Had some difficulty with software. An licensing issue. Other than that, it's worth it!!!

perfect device I needed
once I unboxed the device I connected it to the computer, and the computer set it up so it was recognized. When I opened my DAW Software, it recognized it, but I was having issues getting it to work. I got on Google and searched until I found the answer so Both my MIDI Keyboard, and the Starrypad would work at the same itme in my DAW. Now I just have to practice finger drumming to make beats. Thank you for a quality product!

Works to control SR16 drum machine
I purchased this controller to use with an Alesis SR16 drum machine and can confirm that it does work to trigger the drum sounds from the SR16. However, the Alesis has 12 pads while the Starrypad offers 16. So the Starrypad only works to trigger the sounds already assigned to the 12 pads on the Alesis. I had hoped to use the other 4 pads on the Starrypad to trigger additional drum sounds from the Alesis but that didn't work. Also, since I am only using the Starrypad to connect to the Alesis and not to any DAW software, I had hoped to power the Starrypad with a USB charger adapter. But I could only get it to work when plugged into a computer. Finally, I took off one star because the pads on the Starrypad still feel a bit too tight and not as responsive as I had hoped.

Have to purchase monthly app to use!
My 12 year old was ecstatic to get this for Christmas. Took me hours to try to find an app or software to be able to actually use it. I have a new HP laptop. It was extremely frustrating, and the directions given with the device didn’t help me one bit. We ended up having to get an app on the iphone called Band Lab. It is $15 a month, not what we had expected when we purchased this. I would have sent this back, as we didn’t want the added expense, but he has wanted it forever. The pad itself works great. He is enjoying it a lot. But just be aware that it isn’t a “one and done” purchase as we had expected.

Used for DnD sound effects
I got this as a gift for a Dungeons and Dragons dungeon master. He had been wanting a soundboard for his sound effects and music, but they were typically very expensive. This was an affordable option I found and he has been really happy with it. He was able to set it up with software on his laptop, so he can take it over to his friends' houses and have a more comprehensive experience in their play sessions. The soundboard is responsive so that he can quickly insert the sounds he needs, and there are plenty of large buttons so he can tie different effects to different buttons and have plenty ready to go at one press. You are also able to fade sounds so he can transition music between scenes. Overall quite happy with the purchase.

Pads Work Great for the Price!
Update: Donner reached out after my first review and provided a replacement unit, and it works so much better. The sensitivity of the pads is excellent. It works will be Ableton Live 11 and 12. Great customer service as well! The unit has nice features, a useful editor, easily connected to Ableton Live, and feels solid, but all of that doesn't matter if it doesn't perform well at it's most basic function. The pads are just not sensitive enough except for the most entry level finger drumming. The required force is too high. I had to strike each pad very hard and it removed any sort of enjoyment or expressiveness while playing. Rolls or ghost notes were impossible. I could do a basic 4 beat pattern but that's it, and had to keep it set to "full level" the entire time. I tried changing the settings (it lets your adjust the velocity curve in the editor) but it didn't help. I returned it.

I absolutely love this little keyboard! It was quick to get set up controlling parameters on Logic Pro X and the beat pads are very responsive By far my favorite feature is the touch sensetive pitch and modulation bars. By reacting to touch (as opposed to using a wheel) you can tap section of it to immediately change the sound as oppose to sliding the wheel to the right position. This means you can actually use the pitch wheel to tap in melodies The transpose button is also a very useful feature that I didn't have on my previous keyboard. I'm not a technically proficient keyboard player so the transpose buttons make it much easier for me to melodies in simpler keys I was previously using a much bigger 49 key model with full size keys but I'm much prefering these small Microkorg sized ones. It also means its small and light enough to easily fit in my backpack for when i take my laptop to mix or record at a friends house

DMK25 Review Donner’s Spacline DMK25 certainly rivals other midi controllers in the range! This 25 key controller comes packed with a variety of industry standard features and a few unique! Pros: The first thing I noticed about the controller is its build. It feels well built. The knobs and sliders are well attached and don’t easily pop off (a complaint I have of Korg products). The inclusion of sliders is a big win for me (instead of more knobs). Each of the trigger pads have a great feel to them, and the velocity is a good sensitivity. The keys themselves are pretty standard, comparable to most other midi controllers of the type. The touch wheels were reactive and easy to use. The ability to plug and play was great as it interacted with multiple DAWs seamlessly (MainStage, Ableton, and GarageBand). It included a great braided USC-C to USB cable as well, it was a nice touch to see a cable of a bit better build and quality included. Cons: Honestly, there are very few complaints I have about the DMK25. As a midi controller it does exactly what it needs to. The inclusion of the sustain pedal is great but it is odd that they chose to make it a 1/8” port rather than a 1/4”. Why they made that choice I’m not sure. It just means I have to go and buy another piece for this set up. The price is definitely something to look at. Other controllers (Akai Mini, Arturia mini lab, Novation 25) range in prices, $20-30 cheaper (Akai & Arturia) or $50 more (Novation). When you look at the differences you have to wonder if the price is warranted. In the DMK25 you gain sliders, transpose buttons, and USBC port. What you lose is the 1/4” sustain plug in, included software and a LED screen (for Akai and Novation). I’m not upset about the price, but I think to be competitive against the Akai (biggest competition), Donner will have to look at it. Final thoughts: Aside from the comments above, this is a great controller! It feels well built that gives me hope for longevity, it works flawlessly with the DAWs I tried out, and is a great addition to my set up (a definite upgrade from the iRig controller I had been using). Whether you’re looking for a 25 key controller for live use or production, the Donner DMK25 will be a great instrument for you! P.S. the sliders really are a huge selling point for me! 4 sliders & 4 knobs is a much better set up than 8 (or 16 😬) knobs like some controllers have. So THANK YOU DONNER FOR INCLUDED SLIDERS!
