You do need some hand strength to screw the head down tight enough to hold pressure and to puncture the CO2 cannister, so it might not be good for someone with arthritis or other hand issues. The only thing that I don't love about it is that it only hold a liter of water. But it works well, it's easy to use and we no longer buy plastic seltzer bottles. There is one item that came with the packaging that looks like a wide prong of some kind that there was no explanation for. I still have no idea what this part is supposed to be for, but it looks like something that was intentionally included as part of the product.
