Ultra-Sharp Stainless Steel Kitchen Knife Set - Chef Knives Set (5 Knives, 5 Sheath, Sharpener - Black)

Some months ago I was searching on this well known online retailer that's situated on a river in South America for a cheap knife sharpener for the dulling second hand knives that I was gifted upon moving into my first flat, on my own, almost two years ago. For roughly the same cost as most of the sharpeners, I found this set that came with a whole set of knives, which seemed silly to pass up. The sharpener rejuvenated my old knives perfectly, but the new knives I had intended to use as spares have become the primary knives. Not only were they sharp, but each one comes with a smart little plastic sheath - perfect for extra safety in my kitchen drawers due to not having a knife block. One of the things I most love though is the non-stick surface on them - something I had never seen on a knife before nor did I spot it in the description, but came as a life changing surprise. Cutting soft, sticky cheeses, amongst other things, is now an absolute pleasure. The knives barely need cleaning but they dry instantly once cleaned - the satisfaction of watching the water run straight off them still brings me joy months later. On the rare occasions I have guests, I take great enjoyment at making sure I show, and then try for themselves, the joy of cutting sticky foods and then running the knives under water and achieving instant dryness - my dull guests have so far all agreed and understood my enthusiasm. Over some months though, probably due to my using it to cut things it shouldn't be cutting, one of my knives started to feel a bit dull. I know the sharpener worked on the old knives, but I was worried about whether the new knives, at less than £20, would hold up as well. I carefully sharpened the blade and it felt satisfying. But to really know whether it worked I had to test it thoroughly. It's an unconventional method of testing, but the results speak for themselves. It went through smoothly, like it was butter. A really good clean cut that instantly got the juices flowing. Such a good clean cut that bar a nanosecond of sting, there is no pain because it went nicely through the nerve. 10/10, would recommend the knife set for the sleek looks, the sharpener and the increased safety in my overcrowded knife drawer. But I would also urge anyone who hasn't experienced non-stick knives to get yourself a set ASAP. The non-stick surface is a game changer. It's so effective that it seemingly stopped any trace of blood appearing on the knife. I feel this product is missing a trick in the marketing - great for cooks, superb for opening packages and letters but also probably great for hitmen, due to DNA not sticking to it.

After years of trying to get decent knives, I finally found a set that is just right. They look great, feel good and are very reasonably priced.

I’ve been using these knives for over 8 months now and the quality is excellent. They look great and are still very sharp. I haven’t needed to use the sharpener yet, but I did give it a try and it works really well. I would definitely recommend them.

I bought this black knife set for myself, and I’ve been really impressed with it! Das Set zu einem Spitzenpreis gekauft und dafür top Messer bekommen. Alle meine alten Messer gleich entsorgt, weil die schon ziemlich stumpf waren. Ich war schon lange auf der Suche nach einem wirklich scharfen Messerset. Die guten, aus Japan naja preislich waren die weit über meiner Vorstellung. ( bis zu 350 Euro) nein danke - also schnippelte ich weiter mit meinen blöden stumpfen Messern rum. Bis ich auf dieses Messerset gestoßen bin. Dachte mir, bei etwas mehr als 16 Euro !! (jawohl NUR 16 Euro) kann nicht viel schief gehen. Nein es ist perfekt ! Neue Lieblingsmesser. schon alles geschnippelt und geschnitten - von Tomaten - Gemüse aller Art - Fleisch roh und tiefgefroren - alles supi !!!! volle 5 Sterne.

For the price these knives are excellent. So happy with how these look. I even bought a magnetic block to display these on the wall.

They do feel decent, and fit nicely in my hands. They'll need a little sharpening to get to my liking but that's normal with new knives. Should last a few years with ease, and the sheaths will very much help with that too
