I received this as a replacement for an earlier model and noticed right away the improvements made in areas that were needed from the previous generation. These are so easy to use and accurate - I use these a lot in Texas for measurements during drought to make sure I'm not taking too much water. The simplicity of the battery and the compartment it sits in is well insulated from water intrusion. Great little device for a great price. Take the battery out if you store it over the winter and have a replacement battery ready for next Spring.

This unit is fairly simple to use. It comes with two quick-detach connectors so you can either run your hose with this installed or bypass it when not needed. The quick connectors can be finicky and leaky if they're not perfectly connected. The part that screws onto the hose bib is made of plastic and was difficult to get on. I had to thread it onto a different hose connector before it would screw on straight. The plastic parts don't look like they'll hold up to a lot of abuse, making this a "use it sometimes" device. Not bad for the price for someone wanting to measure water usage occasionally, but I don't think this would last long under constant use. Using it was simple. There's one button to cycle through the different modes. I measured its accuracy by filling up a 5 gallon bucket and it showed 5 gallons when filled. It has an auto-shutoff, and I thought I had lost the current gallons used during another test. In fact, it had lost the quantity on the 2nd screen (current gallons) but it retained the total gallons used on the 4th screen. If you're not going to be near the unit when in use, you'll need to remember to zero this out before using it to measure gallons used on a single event. The instructions were pretty straightforward and easy to understand, but the device is simple enough you probably don't have to do more than glance at them for a specific function or how-to. Would I buy it again or recommend this to friend: Yes.

I have a Rainpoint water meter and I thought it was more accurate, not 100% all the time but close enough. I used that one for comparison and found this one to be off consistently by about 10%. Rainpoint says I’m outputting about 3.0 Gal/min but this one says about 2.7Gal/min I was thinking that it was because we are forced to use the fitting #4 EU standard with the #5 US standard fitting (out of the box assembled setup). I took off the EU piece to confirm and it didn’t make much of a difference but it did leak a whole lot without the #4 being attached to the #5 fitting, as they recommended (See pix). This meant that the entire setup is a long daisy chain of pieces, which is rather cumbersome. I can live with both but it could definitely be better designed. I really like how the battery compartment is designed though. It was easy to pop out and insert the CR2032 battery unlike my other one which requires a button screwdriver (one less thing to lose). The product itself seems durable enough and will help me monitor my water usage much better. Overall, it’s a useful tool to have but it doesn’t seem to be as accurate as my other water meter. It’s also too long as it is now and has too many parts, which is unnecessary and wasteful. I would keep the battery compartment but combine parts 1 and 2 and eliminate 4 and 5, at least for the US market..but hey what do I know? It would at least make it less cumbersome to use. I’d give it a 3.8/5.0 - 09/28/2023.

We use this meter when filling our caravan, it's great to see how much water we have used.

Stopped working after 2 months , I changed out the battery , but still no luck
