I checked the OTC at pharmacy and grocery stores, and then this brand. This brand of Silicone Scar Tape had more in it, and being the right width, was a much better price point purchase.It has perforations to easily tear the length you need, but you also have the ability to cut it to size. Save the backing for when you take the tape off to rinse it so that you can place the tape back on it and then reuse it.My surgery was the end of January. I began using it (and some vitamin E oil at night) once the scars had completely healed and had the go ahead by the surgeon - about 12 weeks. I used it faithfully. Most of the time, just wore during the day and at night used vitamin E. ON weekends, I wore 24/7. IN 6 months, my scars had faded so that they looked about a year old or older. Now, a full year from using, my scars have faded so much that they are not very noticeable.
