FABULOUS-looking floating candle decoration!
I thought I had reviewed this as after taping them up on the ceiling, my eyes popped out when I saw the effect! Different-height, floating candles, flickering, warm yellow candle-like appearance... SOOOO Harry Potter-esque, fabulous! So here's the official review. Very thin, but strong wire - I think it's a PVC/or nylon thread that's securely attached to the tips of the candles. Even with batteries, they held perfectly! We went with white gaffer's tape. Check out the photos... virtually invisible! I did NOT cut any of the thread... rather I'd gather it up, and tape the thread to the piece of gaffer's tape, then tape the whole thing to the ceiling. Battery life: not bad... couple of evening's, going for a solid 4-6 hours, using Amazon Basic's AA rechargeables. NOTE: the wand... it self-drains. I'm not sure why. After about 12 hours, it's dead. Not a bid deal..again because I use rechargeable batteries, but it was a bit annoying. When the candles' batteries are out of power, they begin flashing - short burst every several seconds. This ..can wake you up! Hah! Not a big deal.. just removed the battery and dealt with it the next day. Of course, they all kinda die at the same time, so one would go, then another, etc. It was useful to give me an idea of battery life, and to know which candle needed to be replaced. I replaced batteries while they were mid-air! LIFT the candle so as not to be weight on it, then you may need to shake the candle to get the battery out - rechargeable batteries are a bit larger in size than normal ones. I didn't try my much better Tenergy AA batteries, but..for this purpose, it's fine. I had 20 candles floating for about a month or so... and guests LOVED them! It's over... now you have to put them away. Ugh. That long, nylon thread curls and tangles easily. It's the right thread to use, so.. even if I did it myself, I'd have used something similar, and had the same issues. So I figured out a system, and perhaps this will be useful to you: - leave about 2" of thread at the tip, and begin rolling the thread around 2 or 3 fingers - see my photos - hold the circle of thread together, then twist it into a figure 8 - THEN you can use the tiny supplied twist ties, or make your own by cutting down normal ones - You can stack them inside the box... use the cardboard to cover the tops of one set because the thread will want to "pop" out I was amazed that I got it done, and being able to put these things away for next year was the main reason I'm reviewing this, giving it a good score, and hoping others won't get frustrated with the potential mess. These things are amazing...and create a very cool effect! NOTE: to turn them on, you MAY have to direct the wand higher... ABOVE the tips. That seemed to set them all ON in one push. OR..just keep holding the wand. Many reported the wand not working at all. Well, it's infrared, I think, and it works as line of sight, so... you may need to click a few times. But if you say the right magic words, "LUMOS MAXIMA," that should do the trick. lol! I did not use the timer function with the lights - didn't know there was one until I saw it on the review. Could be useful, but...since these die-off in 2-3 days' worth of lighting, I'd rather control it myself. Be patient.. make sure the tape holds - we had one fall, and it makes... a loud sound when hitting the floor, but it DID NOT BREAK. Otherwise, all 19 other candles stayed up for a solid month using white gaffer's tape. CAREFUL not to put too much gaffer's on a ceiling..you can and will pull paint off! Even our Scotch Magic tape pulls some paint off once in a while. It's the price you pay for decorating!

Prepare to be infatuated
I of course saw something similar on a tiktok video and immediately had to find them.... not disappointed even a little. These are cheaper than the ones I originally saw and they are great! The Product: They don't come with batteries but they do come with the fishing string already attached to each, and a good 4.5ft of it at least (the listing says 4.9ft), so it was suuuper easy to get them hung up. The candles are white plastic and the bottoms screw on. Usually I see issues with the threading but these are great and snug. I used the small plastic command hooks to hang them from my porch ceiling and it's perfect. Lighting: They give off the perfect amount of ambient light while they flicker and they look pretty realistic too. The wand is the best part though! It's got two small buttons on the lower end where you hold it and everyone (kids and adults alike) love flicking it around to turn them all on and off🤣 Battery life: As of right now they've probably had a total of 20ish hours of use (2-3hrs a day) and I use Amazon basics AAAs in them. Currently all going strong. Dislikes: There's no timer function on these like other battery/ remote operated candles I have and I really wish there was. Overall: You'll love them. Halloween... A Harry Potter themed party... or just because you wanna feel magical, these are a fun addition to the decor!

Floating candles
I am very happy with the floating candles. The clear strings were a bit of a hassle to detangle, and I ended up cutting most of them bc they are so long. The suction hooks they came with are sturdy and they have not fallen. The wand is a sturdy plastic. I did have trouble with the battery when I first took it out of the box. I added a brand new battery and the wand wouldn’t turn on. After shaking the wand multiple times, I guess the battery finally settled where it needed to in the wand and it turned on. I do have to shake it from time to time to get the on button to work. I wish the wand was rechargeable instead of battery operated. Overall, it’s a great addition to holiday decorations.

Great Hall Vibes!!
Ugh - these lights!! These were such a cute touch for the holidays, but I kept them up for several months afterwards! The light is dim but still substantial and creates a warm glow. The floating effect is so much fun and really makes you feel like you've got a touch of Hogwarts at home! They definitely need something strong to hang from; as light as they are, when you add a battery, even strong tape won't suffice. I took them down upon moving, but when I rehang them this year in my new place, I'll be using the clear sticky tack/putty dots. I also chose not to cut too much off the string and kept some wrapped up so I could adjust the lengths in the future if I needed to. And the WAND??? 12/10, so much fun. The battery life also lasted a LONG time - at least three months and they were on daily for 2-4 hours. The wand also never died. I'll change the batteries this year before hanging, but, truly, these are awesome and 100% worth it.

Good Visual Effect for Parties or Decor
Used these for Halloween / party / themed event. The candles look great when hung and give a nice ambient glow. Pros: • Lightweight and easy to hang • Soft, warm LED light • Comes with enough line to adjust height Cons: • You need patience to string and hang them evenly • Batteries needed for each candle Overall: Creates a very nice atmosphere once set up. Worth the effort for themed decorations.

Wand Was Replaced by Seller *
I purchased this product for my wife who is a hue Harry Potter nut. I hung them in our hallway and tested them prior. Some of the candles refused to light up after the AAA battery was installed. This is due to the metal spring that pushes the battery into the connection being too short and compact and not forming a circuit with the battery. Easy fix, take a butter knife and gently pull up on the spring a bit and elongate it to it does it's job and forms the connection. Now after every candle was working perfectly with the wand (turning on and off when the wand was used), range started to become an issue after about a week. The furthest candle away could be switched on/off at a distance of 24" down from about 10'-0" out of the box. Currently the issue is the wand is being very selective upon which candles it lights/turns off. I have checked every candle thoroughly and the main issue with this product seems to be the wand itself. Each wand is programmed specifically to the candles it comes with. It appears the wand may just be chewing through batteries with only a few uses, as it runs on a single AAA battery like the candles do. It may also need to be replaced as I only see a handful of other purchasers having the same issue. I guess it's a roll of the dice what you get. ______________________________________________________________________________________________ UPDATE: I got in touch with Leejac and they replaced the wand at no cost. The new wand is working correctly and the wife is thrilled again. Thank you.

3rd set in a row to stop working, buy the bigger ones instead
I had an old set from 2 years ago do the same thing and thought with adding the timer function maybe they had fixed the issues, but I was wrong. I have gotten 2 sets of these in the last month and they have all but 2 (of 40) stopped working properly. You can no longer turn them on, but as long as there are batteries in them you can't get them to fully shut off either. See video - they will randomly flash on. Not worth the money or the time setting them up for how quickly they break. The set in the video was just opened a week ago. It's a shame cause the 6hr on/18hr off cycle was perfect for the short time they worked they looked awesome. The tall and wider sets we got from the same company a while back mostly work still thankfully. There were a couple that never worked out of the box from broken battery connections and a couple of the tall ones that sometimes have to be loosened at the base to be turned off, but otherwise the ones that worked at the beginning of the bigger ones still work and would recommend buying those instead. I may need to go back and get more of those with the timer since these don't seem to have their wiring figured out. They have also killed most of the rechargeable batteries that have been used in them, so lost more than can get in refund.

Hocus-pocus!
These are so fun! Some people commented that the candles don't turn on/off at the same time, but we figured out that you can "wave" the wand and they will turn on/off as the wand passes each candle (point the wand at the floor and hold the "on" button down to start). In my opinion that feature definitely lends itself to the believability of the magic of Halloween (or whatever event you're using these for). Good quality. Strings come already attached, and each one is secured around the base with tape to prevent tangling. Overall, very happy.
