Tasty And Very Figgy!
Ii usually buy the Sapori Panforte Margerita - 12.35OZ as that is the one I've been eating since I was a child. For my last order, I decided to try this Sapori Siena Panforte with Figs and Walnuts, 12.35 oz. So, this Panforte with the figs and walnuts is tasty, and very figgy. I decided that I do like the Sapori Panforte Margerita better though. I guess because I love the spices in it. This Fig and Walnut Panforte is more plain and sweet, sort of like a fig newton flavor. Both are high quality and very good, so it really just depends on your preference.

I really like panforte at Christmastime, but this was like cardboard. It had real figs, but they were so hard it was difficult to chew. I had to throw some unchewable parts out. I prefer the kind with the candied fruit as it is easier to chew and the flavors taste much better together.

Overly Sweet - Get Their Panforte Margherita Instead
Someone posted a picture here with the warning "DO NOT BUY THIS AT ALL!! Disgusting looking and very small looks too dangerous to eat?!" All that's going on in that picture is this panforte was dusted with powdered sugar at the bakery and over time the sugar has absorbed moisture and juices from the figs. Mine didn't look all that much different and it TASTED delicious, if a bit overly sweet. Now that I've had both this fig version and the Margherita version from this company, I will probably order only the Margherita version in the future. It's a more complex flavor and not as overpoweringly sweet. And again, for those who don't know, you cut the foil bag open, you peel off the paper ribbon that circles the edge of the panforte and discard it, and you EAT THE EDIBLE RICE PAPER on the bottom (and don't even notice it). As for "very small" in that review, this company's panforte is less expensive than Marabissi brand and theirs is similarly sized. If you don't want to experience something new and can't appreciate the customs and cuisine of others, then it's probably best not to order and to stay in your white bread bland never changing little world.
