Great Outdoor Lock
Great quality lock, this is my second order, and my first locks are still working great. They are fully exposed to the elements and no signs of wear or rust. Great value for the price, perfect size for medium size lock needs. Highly recommended for outdoor use.

Good outdoor lock. No rust
I have this lock on my shed for few years. Til this day, it shows no sign of rust.

Small but solid. V good security for it's size!
At first I felt it was a little small and flimsy but after a closer look I can see that it is 'punching above it's weight'. It has a double ball bearing locking mechanism, so a thief would have to cut *both sides* of the shakle in order to get it open. The dimple pins are able to be picked but only by someone who really knows what they're doing as they work differently than classic pins. It's a marine lock so you know that it can handle harsh weather conditions without corroding or freezing up. And finally, it retains the key until it is fastened closed so if the key is in your hand, it is definitely locked. Pretty solid little lock well worth the 22 bucks.

Most inexpensive locks are easy to pick - this one apparently is harder
Before purchasing a lock, check out the lockpickinglawyer youtube channel. Most inexpensive locks are ridiculously easy to pick - this one is harder. Besides that, the lock is extremely well made and works smoothly - a step above the competition.

Extremely strong lock
I work part-time in Materials Science and Engineering - so I did a little test of my own on these Abus Marine locks. I soaked them in a cup of salt water for months, and occasionally taking them out and letting them dry in the air and then re-soaking them. In the end, no rust or jamming, and opened up smoothly. I did tons of freeze-refreeze cycles in water and no issues. They've been out in the sunlight on the South side of the house, again no issues. Very tough lock!

Nice little lock
This is a decent little padlock. But it is LITTLE - you should have an idea of just how small 40mm is before you order it. It would be suitable perhaps for locking a small toolbox, or something of that nature. More robust than a luggage lock, but more of a hassle than high-security. I can't think of an application that would require something this small and be Marine-grade, but you may have one. The shackle is not spring-loaded, as many other locks are. The key is not a standard key; Abus describes it as a 10-pin "dimple key" cylinder. It is most similar to the Mul-T-Lock style with telescoping pins. Made in China.

Weatherproof and does not rust
Purchased to lock the fuel cap on my farm tractor. It won't stop a determined bad actor with bolt cutters but it will prevent mischief from curious juveniles. It has gone thru several seasons now and does not show any signs of weathering.

Great lock for the money
Love the design and unique keys that come with this lock. So far it's worked great in a marine environment. Some don't like the fact that the key stays in the lock once unlocked, but I like it! It keeps me from loosing it, and it makes me make sure it's locked before I can remove it. This size (75lb/40) works great with the latch on my dock box. The 75lb/50 was too big, and quite frankly, it's a beast of a lock by comparison. I would definately buy again...

The ABUS 75IB/40 may not be the best value for your money when you compare it to say a Masterlock 140D at roughly half the price. However, you do pay the extra for a super durable lock with it being completely stainless steel (body & hasp) and improved security. First off, most Masterlock's are a joke and provide a false sense of security. They are built down to a price, but barely provide any protection when securing your devices. Most of them can be shimmed, raked, or picked quite easily. Granted, you can likely use a bolt cutter and cut most padlocks, including the ABUS 75IB/40 (abit tougher, stainless steel) with its 6mm shackle, pretty quickly. The ABUS 75IB benefits from having a dimple lock that is harder to pick and features security pins and a very narrow key way with lots of warding. Despite being such a small lock, it utilize two stainless steel bearings that prevent the shackle from being shimmed by either professional tools or a piece of soda can. The stainless steel construction and steel bearings should ensure most physical attacks, such as hammer blows and pry bars, are prevented. With this being said, this lock would be perfect for low or medium security applications, where the size of the lock is limited, such as, luggage, backpacks, and lockers. However, being a dimple lock and being a German company, it might be difficult to find replacement keys for the padlock or get them at a reasonable price. The description for the lock is almost entirely accurate. When I first ordered this lock, I completely missed the part number that listed the lock as 'Keyed Alike' rather than 'Keyed Differently', respectively abbreviated as KA or KD. Thankfully, when the lock arrived, on the box it was actually KD, or else it would have been returned. Amazon should correct this and list it as keyed differently on both the heading and description of the item.

Amazon needs to change their review options as no idea how a padlock provides warmth... Bought this padlock as the price was very cheap compared to masterlocks which aren't secure at all and very happy with the purchase!

Just enough of a step up from generic locks. The dimple key is just enough more secure to make me feel that my valuables are safe in the gym locker.

Didn't realize that it comes with a sort of dimpled key, which I would guess is at least a little harder to pick. Really smooth operation.

Very nice lock that resists corrosion well so is good for outside use. Only issue is the key is not easily copied.
