**Q: Would it strip the paint off?**
A: Yes, it does.  Do not apply on painted surface unless you plan on repainting it later.  If you're buying this only to protect painted surface, don't bother.  It strips off half of the paint when you peel it off, doing much more damage than your dog could ever do.

**Q: How well does this work with cats?**
A: I have 3 and none of them scratch my door frames anymore . Works great and blends in cant even notice them on the bottoms of my doors

**Q: Can I use on painted wood**
A: I don't see why not,  I have it on painted dry wall.  The adhesive is not aggressive, in fact I have to "press" it back on periodically.

**Q: I want to use this to protect our front door, as our dog likes to scratch when we leave. Is this super durable? Could a 10 pound dog rip it off?**
A: I have a 50 pound dog and this product has worked well above my expectations.  She scratches excessively whenever we come home and this protection has stayed in place perfectly.
