Enables me to play music CDs at my desk

This product is easy to use. I have 100 CDs with pictures of grandkids on them and family pictures and I gave half of them to each of my sons along with the external CD drive so they can put the CD in the product plug it into the computer and see all the pictures.

This CD player worked with the first CD inserted. The second CD never loaded into the computer, the CD drive mechanism kept clicking, and the eject button on my keyboard would not let it release the CD. I returned this drive immediately. Do not waste your money on this one!

Got this to see how well it works for the cost i currently have it on a Dell alienware r10 simply plugged it in and it was ready to go no issues of any kind after 5 cd went though flawless I was like what no way wow let me see put a 20 year old scratched music cd in and wouldn't you know it played and copied it to my computer so i can listen on my pc without needed the disk pretty cool for the cost I must say!!!!

The disc drive, which feels substantial, started off fine, but then only worked intermittently. The problem appeared to be the complimentary USB/Type-C adapter provided by the seller, Biscon Tech. After swapping a couple of messages, Biscon Tech very generously sent me a replacement disc drive and Type-C adapter, along with a carrying case since the case was inadvertently omitted from my initial order. Nice product + fair price + excellent customer service = 5 stars. So nice to do business with a responsible seller. I will look for and consider Biscon Tech's products for future purchases because of this top-notch customer service, and I recommend you do the same. I appreciate things that are (1) well-designed and that (2) function the way they should, how about you? The Guamar (that's the name of the product) is everything I'd want in a DVD player/burner. In operation the slot beats an ejectable tray hands down, being less trouble-prone. The company that manufactures the Guamar is fortunate to have on staff a talented industrial designer. If you like form-follows-function minimalism (which I do), the device's design is perfect. It's small and sleek. And thin, only slightly thicker than a deck of cards. No unnecessary decorations or useless doodads. And again, it just WORKS.

I’m giving this a 3-star review more as a caution due to the fact that there is no external eject button (or savior hole you can insert a paper clip into for ejection). You are dependent on your computer to recognize the drive (you can download a driver if needed), and then use the eject functionality through the computer. The fact that there is no ‘hail Mary’ way to eject is scary. It seems to work fine. However, on my 4th disc I inserted, it didn’t recognize it. Therefore, I couldn’t access the eject feature in my computer to eject my disc. I read the manual and it did say that if your computer is running low on memory or storage it may fail to recognize the drive. I knew this was a possibility for me so I deleted a bunch of old stuff and then it didn’t recognize say recognize it. So proceed carefully if you are inserting a CD that can’t be replaced. The company does seem to have email customer service so perhaps if I had gotten desperate I would have found a solution.

I plugged the unit into my 2010 Mac Mini and it worked. No muss, no fuss. Only thing against the unit is having to hold underneath just a bit to gdet the disc to lock in but it is not a problem. Works just fine with cd's and dvd's. Great unit for the price. Nice carrying case if I want to take it somewhere. Have recommended it to friends.
