Maybe the best Near Death Experience book I have read. And I've read a lot.

*by B***H on Reviewed in the United States on March 10, 2016*

I'm not prone to hyperbole when it comes to reviewing a book (or anything else). I've been studying Near Death Experiences for probably 15 years. I can't tell you how many interviews I've listened to and how many books I have read. I heard three interviews with Natalie Sudman describing the three environments of her NDE in pretty great detail. I had to get the book. The interviewer had said this book is packed with information and he's right. Natalie has a great way with words able to use a few words to give a lot of information. I found myself reading the book slowly and re-reading passages to make sure I could grasp the complex and profound insights she gives as to the nature of reality, why we are here and who we really are. You know, the little questions. The book title could just as well have left off "In Iraq" because where she was and the details of how she became nearly dead Out of Body don't really matter. What matters is her experience in those environments she was in and the insights they gave her into her own life and into all of our lives. She experienced an environment where she reported back data/research gathered while in the body, an environment where she was energetically healed (her spirit) and an environment where she cooperated in the healing of her physical body and determined which long term injuries she would return with. It's a fantastic tale that, if believed, can shift us from victim consciousness to taking responsibility for what we are going through and possibly see why we are going through it. If you believe what she says, all lives no matter how mundane or small they may seem are extremely valuable and we who choose to live these lives are pretty amazing for being able to do so.The book is very short. I think I finished it in three or four times sitting down with it. There isn't a lot of superfluous detail. I get the feeling there is a lot that she left out that might be in future books, but she did an excellent job of distilling things down.

    Magnificent and Life Changing!!!

Since the publication of Life After Life by Dr. Raymond Moody, NDEs have often been described by experiencers and commentators as "ineffable" events -- subjective experiences beyond the ability of human language (or at least English) to accurately describe. But what if remembering the details of the NDE, and then being able to describe them, is a condition imposed by the experiencer, as part of his or her agreement to return to the physical world? In Application of Impossible Things, Natalie Sudman provides a compelling, detailed, and altogether fascinating account of her out-of-body experience. Ineffable? Perhaps, but Ms. Sudman nevertheless provides a spectacular description of what happened during each stage of her NDE. She asked for the ability to remember, got it, and has written an amazing book to now share her recollection with the public.Though some of the material in the book is heavy and dense -- some chapters read like academic discussions of theoretical physics -- Ms. Sudman's bravery, humor, humility, intelligence, and charm are all readily apparent. One can't help but have a deep admiration and respect for the writer. I am so grateful that Ms. Sudman took the time to write this book.I particularly liked the way that the author connects the New Age concepts of intention and manifestation -- the idea that thoughts become things -- with the flow of energies in other, non-physical dimensions. Her depiction of the Whole Self helps provide a perspective that helps the reader understand why "bad things happen to good people." The writer's own evaluation of her life review -- the criteria she applied when viewing her life to that point -- was fascinating, as was her description of the assistance she requested (an ability to remember her NDE) when her Whole Self agreed to return to the physical world. That's why this book stands out. This is a life-changing book that will be read and re-read for generations to come. Indeed, immediately upon finishing, I wanted to start at the beginning and read it all over again. Highly, highly recommended.
