How do you fit the gate castor

I found the diameter of the two securing holes on the castor, then bought two bolts of the length to suit the wooden gate thickness. Then drill one hole pushed the bolt through the wood on the gate, putting the castor onto the bolt, securing the castor with the nut on the castor end of the bolt. I measured up the second hole, moved the castor round on the first bolt until I could safely drill the second hole, then did the same procedure as the first bolt. The gate works a treat, as it is a 4 foot heavy wooden gate.

what is the travel on these,i have a drive that slopes away from the gates.is the 4 inches the travel?

The answer is no ! The travel on these is about 1 1/2 to 2" and won't support much weight. Your gate is going to have to support its own weight.

How would you use screws as the spring gets in the way?

You mark the holes. Drill a 3mm piolt then use a stubbie driver. 🤷🏼♂️

What size bolts do you need for this? 9mm?

Take the gate castor to the hardware shop, the assistants will measure and provide the correct nut and bolt.
