Amazing colour night vision!
Simple to setup and install. It comes with a 9v power adapter, but I'd read that I could use my existing 12v lead, and it's working fine. The image quality is excellent, especially the colour night vision! The design doesn't have a "hood" over the front of the camera, so much less likely to get spider webs etc. It supports RTSP & ONVIF, so I have it working with my NVR software (BlueIris) just fine. Given the price point, it's an excellent little camera!

Incredible brightness and crystal-clear 2K video!
I am thoroughly impressed with the Tapo C720 Floodlight Camera. The 2800-lumen floodlights are staggeringly bright and completely light up my entire yard, and being able to adjust the angles of the dual lights is a massive bonus. The 2K QHD video quality is incredibly sharp both day and night, giving full-color night vision when the lights trigger. The smart AI detection is brilliant at distinguishing between people, vehicles, and pets, which has drastically cut down on annoying false alerts. I also love that it has a microSD card slot so I can record locally without being forced into a monthly cloud subscription. The Tapo app is smooth, responsive, and easy to navigate. Highly recommend this for anyone wanting serious outdoor security!

Really good
I got this a couple of months ago and it was easy to install and works very well. The picture is very clear at day and night and the person detection has been perfect except for one night it decided a cat was a person. When I set it up initially it seemed from all the research I did that the person detection didn’t get announced by Alexa, it was only motion detection However recently I have been getting Alexa notifications for person detection so maybe there has been an update. I don’t use motion detection as you get too many notifications. The camera works well when you want to talk to the person detected. I got this camera instead of a Ring doorbell which I sent back as it didn’t work very well. The camera works better than the Ring doorbell and was considerably cheaper. I’ve even used it on a mobile phone when I have been away in Spain.

Very good
I love this camera and only reason that I have not given it 5 stars is because it is powered by usbc which restricts the length of the cable. Luckily I have an outside power supply which the cable supplied is just abot sufficient. I have several Tapo cameras and they all work perfectly through the app. Not a single drop of camera connection. I have bought other brands before and you have lots of adverts on the app and also different apps for different cameras. I bought a TC 41 as I already had 2 of the TC40 ones and for a couple of pounds more I thought I may as well get the upgraded version. To be honest I do not see much difference between the resolution on TC40 and TC41 but may as well get the newer version for the sake of 2 extra pounds. Set up is fantastically easy through the Tapo app, no subscription as it records directly to the sd card. If you have a Tapo H200 like I have you will have the option of recording different cameras to the hub's SD card saving having to buy individual sd cards for each. Now manage all 4 cameras and doorbell through one app! Bonus...Also works with alexa so just have to say "alexa show drive", or garden etc and it will pop up on the TV if you have a firestick. (If you have the TV on,,obviously). The tracking works very well and I like the fact that after tracking it reverts to the original position.

Tapo C320WS – Outstanding Upgrade from Yale System
I recently upgraded from my old Yale SV-D8 4MX-B LAN-connected CCTV system to the Tapo C320WS, and I can honestly say the difference is night and day. Setup & Installation: Installation was seamless. I drilled directly through the wall into the house, so the cables are fully protected from the elements. Each camera was easily mounted and connected via LAN, and the Tapo app guided me through setup without a hitch. It just worked — no fussing with ports, firmware, or awkward settings. Performance: The video quality is a massive step up from my old Yale system — the 2K resolution is incredibly sharp both day and night, and the colour night vision with the integrated spotlight is genuinely impressive. The cameras lock on to motion reliably, and with a bit of tweaking to the detection zones, false alerts have been minimal. Smart Features & App: The Tapo app is well thought out, offering granular control over motion detection, activity zones, and alerts. The two-way audio and built-in siren are nice bonuses, and I love that I don’t need a subscription — local recording on a micro-SD card just makes sense. LAN connectivity means there’s no lag, buffering, or dropout — something that plagued my old setup. Compared to Yale SV-D8 4MX-B: These Tapo cameras are far superior. The image quality, smart features, ease of use, and build quality are leagues ahead. The old Yale system felt clunky and outdated, while the C320WS feels modern, robust, and efficient. I also appreciate that I no longer need a bulky DVR hub — each camera runs independently with its own storage. If you’re replacing an older wired system like Yale’s SV-D8 series, the Tapo C320WS is a no-brainer. Better quality, easier setup, more intelligent features — and no ongoing subscription. Very impressed so far.

TP LINK TAPO C320WS - I could not ask for better ...
Having used several Tapo C110 cameras recently, and being so delighted with their performance, I decided to ADD the even better Tapo C320WS cameras, with a stunning 2560px X 1440px resolution. (1:1/3 cmos/lens). Once again, easy to add to the existing TP Link TAPO app, As soon as you open the box, you can feel the quality just by the size, build and weight. There are many more features introduced, in comparison to the other excellent Tapo cctv cameras, these being: 1. Facility to use long ethernet cable if camera is too far away from a wifi source. 2. A 'Bulb' icon on the app, to manually turn the light on the camera 3. More night mode settings: Infra Red, or Full Colour (using built in spotlight), or Smart Mode (which switches from infra red mode to full colour when an event is detected) 4. Even more detection methods if needed. So besides the normal motion detection including activity zones, there is Line Crossing Detection Mode, Area Intrusion Detection Mode, Camera Tampering/Obstruction Notification Mode The camera also serves as an automatic outside light, with the option to record any intrusion in full colour (at night), due to the inclusive white lights. The main feature though, is the quality of the image recording. With many cameras, it's almost impossible to make out activity a fair distance away, but this is not the case with this C320WS camera. Personally, having inserted a micro sd card into the camera, I prefer to use detection and continuous recording (all adjustable from the app). With a 128gb micro sd card, I am able to record CONTINOUS (including detected events) for 3 weeks, before the old data starts to be overwritten with new data. I genuinely am delighted with this camera, and just cannot fault it in any way.

Another Great camera from Tapo
I bought the 2 pack Tapo security camera last month as a upgrade from a similar camera. On my review of that order, I noted that I planned to expand my system with more cameras in the future . About a month has gone by and my feelings for this system are still the same. I added this OUTDOOR camera to replace an older camera on my driveway. The COLOR night time view literally blew me away. At first , I started getting too many false alerts picking up cars on the road. I then made a "BOX" for the motion sensing that didn't include the road...Boom..No more false alerts.. I did notice if I enable the " AI "mode for vehicles..It still picks up the cars that I didn't include in my motion area I chose...it seems Like it overrides the box and looks at the whole screen. This was easily fixed by disabling the AI for AUTOs. Setup was a breeze , just adding it to my other 2 Tapo cameras . Details are clear and I can easily read a license plate anywhere in my driveway. Alerts are sent almost instantly , and I will probably activate the free trial on this camera for offline storage. Remember to buy the 256 gb SD card when you buy these cameras. 2 screws must be removed to put the SD card in , and they are tiny tiny screws. Once you insert the card , you will be good to go. The software will format the card , and you can choose 24/7 recording , or motion activated recording. Record the motion clips that you want , save them to memory , then go to memory and you can view , download , or delete the clips to your phone. You can do all of this without a subscription. It's a great addition to my security system , and I plan to add the Battery Powered cameras in time so I can view my backyard . Tapo has proven to be a great family of security cameras for all situations. Whether it a baby monitor , outdoor , wireless , battery powered, or motion tracking , this collection is great and all work together with one well written ,easy to use app. Keep up the great work Tapo ! UPDATE : After a couple of months use , I thought I would add to this review. Now , someone user left a Lengthy review and 90 percent of it is user error. You can EASILY record video to your phone from the SD card without removing anything. If you get a notification , So .... The way to save videos does actually vary between my indoor and outdoor cameras . The Indoor cameras have 3 dots after the clip , and if you select the 3 dots it gives you the option to DOWNLOAD the clip . Selecting this DOWNLOADS the clip to the MEMORY of your SD CARD ... Then if you look up toward the top of the screen .. You will be able to select " Memory " and all the clips you downloaded will be here .... Selecting the clip you want will give you the option to delete , view , or even Download this video to you phone . NOW ... the Outdoor camera has changed a little bit on how to do this without a subscription....When you are watching the selected video , you must press the little camera button while viewing the video , then press it again to stop the recording ... It will the save the clip you recorded to the " MEMORY " section of the SD CARD.. At this point you can click on the clip to view , delete , or DOWNLOAD it to your phone! It's 2 easy steps to save it on your phone...Once you know how to do it , it's very easy....Don't believe the users that say you can't save clips to your phone .. Now for an actual small issue I had . My outdoor camera has an occasional issue ...I attribute this to the distance from my router. Last week , the spotlight stayed on for a couple days???...I unplugged the unit..Rebooted it...multiple times and it was not working correctly... I will admit I was a little upset..but I decided to do a factory reset by pushing the reset button that's in the SD card cover...That was the best thing I could have done ..I reconnected it to my app ..And the camera is now working correct again.... No dropouts , Motion Spotlight works , and I am happy it was just a factory reset that it took to fix it .. It's been working good for 2 weeks straight now ...We did have a power outage a couple weeks ago , and I think that may have messed my outdoor camera up a bit ..Overall...I still think it's the best budget camera system you can get.. No monthly fees and still does everything I want it to do . After months of use, I came up with the following way to set my camera up as the best for my driveway ,and sidewalk . I DISABLED motion sensing , as ANY motion including trees , shadows , distant cars , would always trigger alerts , I disabled the vehicle sensing as it would alert me of all the cars on the road .. I set " Person " alert and this picks up all " people " riding or walking and works perfect ... The other setting I enabled was " Line crossing " and made a line that gives me a notification if anything crosses the middle of my driveway . The combo of Line crossing , and Person alert has made this system work the way I wanted it to .. I see my driveway , and the road but do not get alerts for the traffic on the road .. Only if they pull in my driveway ... The person detection seems to work great when a person is walking anywhere ... It took a little bit of playing to reduce false alerts ... But now that I have it tweaked out , it is an amazing system to have.
