I would bet if you have a Bosch router instructions are in the manual. **Q: If I make my own base plate (6"x6" 1/4" lexan), then drill a hold at the center of the base plate, do I need to have this to center the collet?** A: if you make a plate and attach it then run a bit up threw it then it will be centered on your collet, but if you remove the plate for any reason and if there is any slop on your mounting screws , then this tool is very useful to re align the plate. I have several plates and jigs that I swap out and this makes things allot simpler , especially if you use guid rings . ive also used this to center things on my drill press when I want to enlarge the hole. also this one is reversible so you can use it with a 1/4 or 1/2 " collet. . so to answer your question yes you can do it your way, but I recommend this tool , odds are there will come a time when you'll need it .. one final note, if you make your own plate make sure it is perfect because if you rotate the router at all when trying to make a dado you will change the position of the center, that is why some plates have a flat edge or are square , disregard if you are mounting this in a table **Q: What country is this made in?** A: RA1151 Centering Pin is manufactured in Mexico.
