I bought this because I metal detector and wanted something smaller to dig up finds. I needed something to cut through smaller surface roots and to loosen/excavate dirt. It’s performed commendably in this area. It’s lightweight despite its fierce appearance. The carrying case easily wraps around a belt (make sure you have one!). The case is constricted well because despite repeated sheathing and resheathing of the knife, the case is still in very good condition, as is the knife itself. I’ve hammered this blade into sand, Stoney ground, around cement and concrete structures and at tree bases. The serrated edge is perfect for cutting through brambles and sub-surface roots. I’ve had the knife for several months of steady use and the picture shows it today, almost like new if I were to clean it up. Definitely a good investment for my needs.

The digging tool is great for digging a hole for planting. It is comfortable, functional, lightweight and at an excellent price. I would recommend this for anyone doing gardening or metal finding....

Big, heavy duty. Built to last.

I love this thing is use for metal detecting it digs great even in harder ground and cuts through roots easily. Only downside is its metal so I would keep in a backpack or keep on beltloop behind you or it will interfere with signal.

Very good shovel. Very sturdy. Cuts through the toughest ground and roots. The rubber handle is just the right size. My only complaint is that it doesn't come in left and right versions. The saw edge works great when held in your right hand but not so when held in the left hand. Still the best tool for the job.

This small shovel have a nice sturdy weight and heavy duty, affordable and comfortable in the hands! This shovel is comparable with brand name ones that is 10x less the price! Highly recommended
