Compact works and is okay.
Get the full sized version - compact is too small to make measurements easy, even with the app and the $2 measurement app (which they upsell you on via the free app). Functionally, it works, is well made and easy to use. If you’re a hard core green reading nerd, you may enjoy having a compact meter in your bag to measure the practice green before your round. But after using it on a new home green, I went ahead and bought the “classic” instead. Skip the first step and just buy the Classic instead.

Awesome little gadget
I bought this to measure green speeds for practice rounds as I just got into golf and am playing at many courses nerby. This thing and its accompanying app help you measure green speeds in seconds and after a while, you'll get a great sense of what each speed means. This has helped me gain information about what I need to do with my putting and chipping as I travel from course to course and is a great tool to have in the bag

Simple and effective!
Works as advertised!!!!! Probably not as accurate as a true stimpmeter but close enough to allow me to always be able to match the speed needed to make putts.

It’s half your game and nobody has these
Half of your score is putting and a reasonable priced Stimpmeter is a must addition to your bag, gauge the greens with your own measuring device and get to know your putting speeds as putting speed is every bit as important as the line..
