Canon should watch some Simon Sinek talks
If you've ever watched some talks or read Simon's books, you know there is way to do business that actually seeks genuine benefit for customers and the belief that you can have a win-win. Canon, like many other printer companies continues to go further down the road of profiting off not just ink ,but off wasted ink. When I bought their printers, and paid so much for the Pro series models, I was thinking I would be laying down the insanely priced ink on paper to create beautiful prints. Turns out canon had a better plan. Why not just dump the ink regularly into a waste tank. And not just a little bit--often more ink goes into this waste tank than goes into my prints. Yes, I am aware there is some amount of cleaning needed to optimize print quality. But I have checked and taken careful measurements that clearly show that a massive amount of waste occurs even when there it no need for it. What is the point of nozzle checks and confirming perfect print quality, if the printer is going to processed with extensive cleanings anyway even when not needed. Why can't I turn those settings off. It would cost me less to have the printer be replaced every few years due to not cleaning it enough than it does to dump ink into waste. This is one of those items that is a necessity evil. so canon can make a bit more on their ink waste. Canon, please give some thought to moral business practices and you will find that you will not lose money by being decent to customers but actually earn as much if not more.
