An Excellent Watch for Fitness and Everyday-Wear
I purchased my TicWatch Pro 5 in August 2023 as a functional watch to wear while exercising and a good-looking one (imho) while going out. I am coming from the TicWatch Pro 3 and TicWatch C2 (which are still in rotation and are awesome watches). I have also owned the GTH Pro, but it is primarily utilized by a family member. I’ve stuck with Mobvoi because I know what to expect with the interface, menu navigation, and battery life. I am not in Apple’s mobile ecosystem, plus I do not like square faces. I am also not a fan of fitness-only oriented watches/bands (e.g. Garmin, FitBit, etc.). I was in need of a refresh due to the dwindling battery capacities of my rotation of watches. The TicWatch line made the most sense to me. Below are some highlights (and surprises!) of my usage over the past two months. Battery/charging: I’ve been toying with the idea of going on longer runs, and battery life is paramount. I am a slow runner, so I needed a watch with good battery life. Paired with the fast charging, the Pro 5 exceeded my expectations. I have gone approximately 4.5 days before recharging. I believe the genius of this is due to the watch’s Essential Mode and dual screens. Similar to the Pro 3, the dual display is excellent and extends the time between charges. (Speaking of charging, I use the same cable that came with my Pro 3 to charge the Pro 5!) I appreciate the fast charging - taking me from the tens percentile to the eighties in approximately 30-35 minutes. The fast charge helps me get a charge in before going out, especially if i haven’t charged in several days. Mobvoi Health app: the app was a surprise find for me. I had no idea Mobvoi created another app. The app tracks metrics such as: sleep, VO2 max, heart rate, activity, etc.; all of which are helpful for tracking overall health. The original and current apps are similar in layout, so navigation was easy. I use the app to track my steps, sleep, workouts, and runs. A couple of things I would like to see more of: more watch faces (more free watch faces), and more watch bands. Beyond the similarities this watch has with other premium smartwatches (i.e., notifications, apps, etc., all of which it has), I believe what sets the Pro 5 apart is the battery life. I can wear the Pro 5 without worrying too much about the battery. That, to me, is gold. Thanks for reading.

Best battery life of any WearOS watch
I have been using Android wear watches aka WearOS from the early days. I had the first Fossil, I had the Mobvoi TicWatch 3, which I liked at the time, but unfortunately it didn't last very long. Had it replaced under warranty after almost a year. I had the replacement for another while but eventually it started acting up again. I think there was an issue with water intrusion. I wear my watches in the water always so I need them to be waterproof. After this I decided to give the Galaxy Watch 4 a try and It worked well until a firmware update bricked it, so Samsung sent me a replacement. The watch has worked well overall, but with all the annoyances of having Samsung installed bloatware and voice assistant. The watch has not been fluid but it was the best option at the time. Well I just received my new Mobvoi TicWatch 5 pro. I ordered the sandstone version which does look great. From my TicWatch 3 days I did always appreciate the dual display for battery savings, so was excited about trying out this new version with the latest snapdragon W5+ Gen1 processor, more ram, and larger battery. My comparison on this watch will be directly against the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic. Things I really like in the TicWatch 5 pro: Speed: the watch is fast in comparison to my galaxy watch 4 classic. Swiping through the screens is a welcome improvement. I get absolutely no delays. Dual screen: The new dual screen is alot more useful than the TicWatch 3, really like that I can scroll with the crown to get additional information screens. Notification screen: notifications were always kind of spotty on my Galaxy watch 4 classic. I really like how they are displayed by scrolling up on the TicWatch 5 pro Receiving calls: this was always a challenge on the galaxy watch. I am always working in the garage, so I frequently answer calls from my watch. The galaxy had poor sound quality and would not always pick up the call properly. The TicWatch has been flawless with answering calls. Callers say it sounds great even when I'm driving with my hands in the steering wheel. I also notice the Bluetooth range from my phone is awesome, so I can pick up a call while I find my phone. Wear OS experience: I do like the more native os experience of the TicWatch 5 pro. I have a Pixel Phone and prefer a Native Android experience. I really hated the fact that the Galaxy Watch 4 tries to force the usage of Samsung apps many that are not even good, like Bixbi, and Samsung pay. Now TicWatch does have their own health app, but it seems to integrate well with Android Health Connect and Google fit. I did have to use Google fit for better integration with strava. Overall the experience is good, maybe similar to that of Samsung, except Samsung would only support their ECG feature if you have a Samsung phone, this was a dumb decision in their part. I personally use Strava for my exercise tracking which is compatible with both watches but does run much smoother on the TicWatch due to the more powerful processor. The rotating crown: The crown works well, for scrolling up and down, you can change it to scroll through tiles like the rotating bezel on the galaxy watch 4 classic. I mostly use it to adjust the volume when using the Spotify app. Between the rotating crown of the TicWatch 5 and the rotating bezel of the Galaxy watch 4 classic, I do have to say I prefer the rotating bezel, but I can use both without issues as they both function well. I do wear my watch on the right, so the rotating crown is not in the way for me. Battery life: After full charge, Initial 48hrs, with setup and new toy heavy use, I had 30% battery left. I am running real time HR monitoring. I also recorded one Strava MTB ride for 1 hr. After 2nd full recharge: First 24hrs 78% First 48 hrs 50% (recorded One Strava ride for 1hr First 72 hrs 15% (had 2hr ride) I am very impressed with the battery life, This is exactly what I needed, I was just away for the weekend camping and didn't have to charge the watch. Full charge Friday morning, about 30% Sunday night when i returned. This is exactly what I needed. It's been a month with my TicWatch 5 and I do have to say I will not be going back to my galaxy watch 4. The TicWatch 5 pro is far superior. The only thing I miss every now and then is Google assistant, and I hope TicWatch will make it available. I mostly use it to send quick text while riding my bike to tell the family I'm coming home so we can have breakfast together.

Impressive Smart Watch, Amazing Battery Life
Every generation, Mobvoi improves on an already fantastic product. Faster and smoother than any watch I've used so far with excellent battery life, never had to worry about it dying on me with a few days use and the fast charge feature is awesome. Personally, I'm still a fan of square smartwatches, but this one makes me reconsider that. This watch just looks great, and feels great on the wrist, not too bulky. Tracking measurements seem to be accurate. The health app companion is good, providing all that data in one place and easy to review. The dual screen is an absolute gamechanger, saving battery life while providing essential information and then using the OLED for the full smartwatch capabilities. Wear OS 3 on this watch runs very well and is mostly, though with a lot of Mobvoi's apps pre-installed that unfortunately can't be uninstalled. Overall performance is great, navigating feels quick and easy, apps don't feel like they're taking forever to load. Can't go wrong with this watch as Mobvoi continues to improve its offerings with each new generation!

Starts out great, but goes downhill.
This is a watch that was destined to succeed, but failed. Long battery life, water resistant, many features. In fact, I loved it when I first received it. It was my third TicWatch. Unfortunately the long battery has become short after less than a year. If the battery goes flat, you have to tap the watch on the (factory only) charger cable to get to restart. Just plugging in doesn't work. The sensors are unreliable - I now off have to turn the watch off to get the pedometer to restart when they hang up. Water resistance is minimal, despite claims. Do not shower or swim with the watch, as Mobvoi will deny your warranty. It is unfortunate that this product did not live up to its promise. My first Ticwatch ran like a charm, but with less features. The second one, was a Ticwatch Pro 3, which suffered from occasional pedometer failure, still works otherwise, but now due to age is suffering from lower battery life. My Ticwatch Pro 5 is less than a year old. It appears that their QC has gone downhill. Hopefully their next model will be better, as they have some nice design features.

My 120 day review of Mobvoi Tic watch Pro 5 in Sandstone color. 5 stars easily!
Hi! I purchased this watch in early September. I wanted to truly test it out before reviewing. I’ve owned atleast 15 different smart watches over the years. It’s my thang. 😂 I always seem to get drawn back to Mobvoi as they last me several years. While that may not impress you, let me impress upon the fact that I’m in construction and am brutal on my watches. They are constantly getting banged around and covered in saw dust etc. I also lead a very active lifestyle for biking, running, swimming, weight lifting. Lots of cardio. This is the first one I’ve owned in this sandstone color. I’ve always had black with stainless or a variation of that. I typically would swap out bands depending on what I was doing as I have some custom bands with mahogany inlays. But this new color is so unique and goes with everything. I get compliments on it all the time. I’m very unique and love unique things. Fitness tracker is fantastic. I love how it knows when I’m switching from walking to riding a bike to weight lifting. The AI is impressive and much better than any I’ve ever owned. The different color screen lighting is stunning. So unique. Sleep tracker: I’ve always been a 5 hours of sleep person. But now that I’m in my 50s and have become aware of the health benefits of getting more sleep, I have been putting more effort into more rest. I have tested this watch while wearing other ones for sleep tracking. This is by far the most accurate and eye opening as to the balance of light sleep, to deep, to rem sleep. By changing up my night time patterns and tracking nightly, I have been able to increase my sleep duration as well as a better balance between the three key sleep levels. I have alerts set as reminders to wind down for sleep. It even tracks my resting. I like how it knows when I’m awake and then updates me how I did the night before. Connecting to my phone: They have finally mastered the seamless connection between my watch and phone. While at work I couldn’t possibly carry my phone all the time as it would get destroyed with sweat, and bashing it. So I leave it in a near by area. This is the first watch that doesn’t require a reconnect every time. It does it seamlessly. I am able to get text alerts and phone calls from the other end of the houses and job sites I’m at. As well as the gym. I’m blown away by how far I can be from the phone and still change my music, get messages, etc. Mobvoi has hit a home run on this one. I use the timer several times a day . I also use the heart rate monitor. It’s very accurate when tested with multiple watches of various brands. It is so cool when it tells me when I a. getting out of my target range by changing the screen colors so I’m not working out anaerobically. I don’t have to keep fumbling through my phone while running to check my heart rate. Battery: I have every feature on all the time. With this battery, I can go several days even with all my fitness trackers going. The old ones would barely get me through the day. Certainly not thru the night for sleep tracking. It is a little bit more streamline than previous versions which makes it easier to wear it at night time. I do have thinner watches but I like keeping all my tracking in one location on the app and watch. When I’m traveling and not doing a lot of workouts, I’ll go a week between charges. Others claim they can do this, but I’ve tried just about every major brand and sent them back as it was untrue. This one also charges quickly for the nights that I want to wear it for sleep and battery is low. A 25 min charge is plenty to get me through the night and next day. The provided dongle cord is easy to connect. I always buy an after market hanging rack just for the convenience. But this cord is plenty long enough as compared to others in the past. It also goes into a quiet mode at night time so I am not bothered while trying to get some well needed sleep. Water reminder: I try to drink at a minimum of half my body weight in ounces of water daily. A lot more on workout days. I can set alerts and track my water consumption easily. Swimming use: I’ve used it a few times while swimming and it works great. But I’ll use my old ones as I love this watch and why shorten the life if I can avoid it. It gets wet daily as I’m always washing sweat and saw dust, and caulk and paint off of my hands and watch. No issues. The glass hasn’t a single scratch and it’s been bashed a lot. Although I don’t recommend being as rough on it as me, it comes with the territory of what I do. I really dig having all the quick swipe tiles. Way better than previous versions. I can see upcoming weather as we work outside and I need to know if any rain or could weather is going to sneak up on me. Flashlight is fantastic. I use it nightly it seems and is fairly bright. Tic Breath feature is fantastic. I use it several times a week. It’s a meditation that just helps me find my center and calm myself. I call it my time out. I use it just prior to going into a big meeting. It makes such a difference when I roll in there all relaxed. I’ll play with it just to see how low I can bring my heart rate down to. I’ve learned in life that anything that gets measured, typically gets improved. With this watch, all areas of my sleep, rest, water, heart rate and resting rates improve as I’m focusing and tracking them daily. Plus I rarely burn food as that timer has saved my tail many times as I’ve gotten distracted while cooking. I’m just skimming the surface is what this watch can do and has done for me. Finally the technology has caught up. These guys are the front runners by far in the smart watch world. I use that compass several times a week while out boating and fishing as a back up navigation. Tip calculated is pretty handy too. The to do scheduler and calendar alerts are spot on. I run 2 businesses and with this watch, it syncs up perfectly through all my devices. In closing, smartest smart watch I’ve ever owned. But you can bet, I’ll get the next model when it comes out. I pass my old ones down to my kids. Way better than any 🍎 one I’ve ever owned. Never again will I go back. I just compared mine to my daughters 🍎 and she’s sending hers back. Nope. I don’t own stock in these guys. Just a great watch that deserves a great review.

My third ticwatch and I am very happy with it!
After several weeks of use I want to share my user experience and some impressions using the TicWatch pro 5. The Ticwatch pro 5 has been an excellent upgrade from my previous Ticwatch E3 which is still working without any problems, but the Ticwatch pro 5 caught my attention because of the multiple improvements in performance and style and the option to choose between two colors (Obsidian / Sandstone). I really liked the Ultra Low Power (ULP) display as it includes much more information than before and it is possible to change it using the crown; you can switch to see heart rate (bpm), calories (KCAL), blood oxygen and compass. All this using only the essential mode display and consuming very little battery power. The Ultra Low Power (ULP) display is fully visible outdoors even in bright sunlight and in low light environments it has a very nice illumination which you can change color, which I think is another excellent feature. Speaking of battery life, I use the watch during the day with all the sensors on and the charge has lasted about 4 days using the watch even at night. I love using the bedtime mode to prevent the screen from turning on with hand movement while lying in bed. The fast charge on this watch works perfectly and allows you to charge the device very quickly. You can let it charge when you go to take a shower and when you get out it will be ready to go. The charging cable has a magnetic attachment and snaps easily into place. The rotating crown makes this watch much easier to use. By double tapping the crown you can access the recently used app very easily which I find very useful. Using the crown to scroll through the different menus in the system makes the user experience more enjoyable. Wear OS runs perfectly on this watch, in my day to day I receive many notifications from different messaging applications, also emails and calls; I can send quick responses from the watch without any problems or slow down. I have my headphones connected via bluethoot to the watch and I can listen music with Spotify even without an internet connection as the device has enough storage space to download my favorite playlists. One of the cons is that to synchronize the watch with my android smartphone I had to download another application (Mobvoi Health) because the one I used with my previous watch does not work. This new application has more options as well as having the ability to download many covers/faces for the watch for free having other paid options as well. The different sensors that brings this watch work very well. The heart rate monitor is pretty accurate as well as the blood oxygen meter. The sleep monitoring has given me much more accurate data than my previous watch which in my opinion was already very good. To use the compass the watch asked me to do an initial calibration by making a figure eight and after that it shows very accurate data. The AMOLED screen and the Snapdragon W5+ Gen 1 processor make this watch one of the best on the market in terms of performance and price. The overall construction of this watch is one of the best on the market as it has a very premium look. This watch is bigger than my old Ticwatch E3, it doesn't really feel like it, and the size definitely doesn't feel uncomfortable on my wrist. The band has a good quality (is made out of a silicon type material) and fits perfectly without loosening,it can be changed easily as there are a variety of 24mm replacement band options on the market. The amoled screen has an excellent definition and the automatic brightness works perfectly adapting to any environment extremely fast, allowing you to see it with sunlight outdoors and in low light environments lowers its brightness to a comfortable level. Conclusion: The Ticwatch 5 pro far exceeded my expectations in design and performance. The battery life is one of its most important features and the performance of the system. If you were considering this watch as an option do not hesitate to purchase it, I can recommend this watch because it is one of the best options in terms of price / quality.

Battery sucks
I will start with what I like since that list is short. Watch looks nice, so far no scratches on the screen. Lot of features and nice display. The worst is the battery life. They claim 80 hours, maybe if you have nothing running and put in battery saver mode. I am lucky to get 36 hours and charging takes a long time. This is not a great fitness watch, screen is hard to read if running and you can not change what you see on the main screen so if you want to see heart rate you have to scroll to that screen while running or riding bike. Quick access workout screen does not put you in the workout you click on. Treadmill running is way off and no way to calibrate. Yes the price is good but the watch is not.

Best overall
The TicWatch 5 pro packaging is well laid out. Sliding out the main box felt premium. So was the inside of the box. The overall unboxing experience felt premium. The box it is shipped in is well packaged. The first thing you see when opening the box is the TicWatch 5 pro. The sandstone color has a neutral looking tone to it. It looks great for someone who likes light colors. Although I do wish there were more colors like grey or light blue, The sandstone color looks discrete on my wrist. There is a nice polish around the watch face. The things it comes with are a charging cable, user manuals and a card to show you the company transparency policy. It does not come with a charging brick but you are able to use your phone's charging brick. Charging the watch is simple and short. From 0 to 100% only took about 50 minutes. The feeling of the watch on my wrist feels almost as though it is not there. The strap it comes with is made out of a silicon type material but if you don't like how it sticks to your skin there is a leather strap that feels very nice. I have been using the leather strap since day 2 of getting the watch and it feels significantly better in my opinion. Setting up the watch is very straightforward and simple. Using google fast pairing technology it popped right up on my phone for pairing. If the watch dies and you charge it and turn it back on it will automatically connect to your phone. If you get too far from your phone and the watch disconnects when you get close to your phone again it will reconnect to your phone. When you are not looking at your TicWatch 5 pro it will dim the screen and when you flick your wrist to look at the watch the screen will brighten up. A few features that are useful for me are a heart rate monitor, find my phone, sleep monitor, essential mode, media controls, stress monitor, and most of the health monitoring tools on the watch. There are more features but I personally don't use them, like the compass, barometer, altometer and O2 sensor. A feature that I used and thought was pretty neat was being able to connect my headphones to my watch and listen to downloaded music. Also being able to take calls from the watch is great too i have used that From my use I found that the heart rate monitor and sleep monitor are rather accurate. There are many different digital watch faces for it. There are detailed watch faces like the one it starts you out with and then there are minimalistic faces. From the faces I tested out you can change the color of and change a certain quick access feature. Like if you wanted to pull up youtube music you can set the quick access part to it. I set my watch face the same color as the sandstone watch color. Durability for the watch is great too! Reason for saying this is because I have scratched many surfaces with it and it still looks the same as when I got it out of the box. There have been multiple times where I have accidentally scratched it on my wooden desk. Hate to also put this in here but I have also accidentally scratched my moms steel fridge and nothing happened to the watch. I haven't fully tested the waterproofness on it but I have washed my hands with it on and nothing happened to it. Personally I would never swim with it on because I'm a freak when it comes to water and electronics coming in contact to be fully submerged but I do feel comfortable wearing it while washing my hands. My overall experience with the TicWatch 5 pro is great. Throughout the entire time of having this watch on my wrist the only bad thing I could think of is the starter silicone watch band. I personally would recommend the leather strap. I believe what Mobvoi has made here is Amazing compared to the competitors.

Not really waterproof
My watch just died after I dived with them in 1.6 meter pool. The watch survived multiple pool swimming sessions without specifically swimming underwater, but after diving for 1.6 meters there was some water fog on the inside of the sensors. The watch does not charge nor turns on. Otherwise it used to be a nice watch...

Expérience TicWatch Pro 5 : Cinq Semaines d'Excellence

Dikke aanrader!

Best Smart Watch I've Had
I just got the new Ticwatch Pro 5 in Sandstone. I've had other smart watches and was never overly impressed however with the Ticwatch Pro 5, I have finally found a watch that suits my needs perfectly. I'll break down the review into sections to describe what I love about the watch: Style: Call me old fashioned but my biggest gripe about my other smart watches was that they didn't look like watches - they looked like a gadget strapped to my arm which was fine in the gym but looked out of place in other situations. The Ticwatch Pro 5, in Sandstone looks and feels like a watch. It's understated elegance and robust build looks good for all occasions, not just when training. This is by far the best looking smart watch on the market. I love the sandstone colour although there is also black for those who would prefer that. It's Sandstone all the way for me!! There is a huge choice of faces. My preference is more traditional looking watch faces however there are modern digital faces too. There is something for everyone. The analogue style faces really suit the look of the watch in my opinion. Apps/Funtionality: I generally just use the health apps however there is pretty much any app you would ever need available from google play. All the popular apps such as wallet, weather, maps, alarms etc are available. For me the health apps have everything I need to monitor my training, sleeping and relaxation time. The information is displayed in a logical, clear way. The watch is really easy to use and I figured everything without reading any of the instructions - it is very intuitive. Everything is logical and where you would expect it to be. The only small issue is that I have big hands therefore it is difficult to type using the watch screen although this is not really an issue as you always have the option to type on the phone. Using the phone functions like calls and messaging via the Ticwatch Pro 5 is simple, slick and exactly what you would expect from a premium smart watch. Build and Battery: This is where the Ticwatch Pro 5 really excels. My main sporting activities are boxing and snowboarding - one of the biggest problems I've had with smart watches was that they were not tough enough to cope with the rigours of such sports. I've been using the Ticwatch Pro 5 during boxing and it is the toughest smart watch I've had by a distance. The watch is tough enough to cope with 5 sessions in the boxing gym/ring each week during punching, blocking, pad work, bag work etc and remains secure on my wrist. A very simple but effective feature that keeps the watch secure is a small dimple on the coupling that secures it to the strap which prevents the strap from dislodging under the boxing gloves/wraps. This was a common issue with other smart watches and very annoying having to take the wraps and gloves off to refasten or adjust the strap. No such issues with the Ticwatch Pro 5 - the strap and watch stay exactly where they should be no matter how tough the training is. I've not used it when snowboarding yet but I had similar issues with previous smart watches to boxing whilst snowboarding i.e, strap/watch moving or un fastening. I would imagine that the Ticwatch Pro will perform as impressively with Snowboarding as it does when boxing. The battery life is phenomenal, you will get a minimum of 2-3 days battery life if you are using the watch to it's limits however you can easily get 6-7 days if you are a bit more frugal with it's use. The watch charges from 10% to 100% in around an hour which is impressively fast so even if you are using the watch to it's full capabilities, it charges very, vest fast. The battery life and charging time of the Ticwatch Pro 5 are considerably more impressive that my previous smart watches. I used to get very frustrated having to regularly charge my previous smart watches and it taking hours to charge them - I would often charge previous watched overnight which means you can't use them for sleep monitoring. With the Ticwatch Pro, you don't have to charge it regularly and when you do have to charge it, you are only without the watch for a maximum of an hour and you don't need to charge it overnight. Summary: This is the best smart watch on the market and is great value for money compared to apple watches and other brands. The watch is tough, practical and has all the functions that I need. I'm not a technical whizz kid by any stretch of the imagination but I have found the watch to be very easy to use. The watch looks amazing (especially in the sandstone colour) and suits all occasions whether you're at the gym or at a fancy restaurant in your trendy clothes. Battery life and charge time are phenomenal. I absolutely love this watch. After being underwhelmed by so many other smart watches, I was sceptical about buying another however I am over the moon that I've finally found the perfect smart watch for me in the Ticwatch Pro 5. There are no gimmicks about this watch, it's just a great all round watch that does everything that I want it to do and does it really, really well. The only thing I would suggest to Mobvoi is to make it compatible with iPhones as soon as possible - you would be amazed how many iPhone users like the iPhone but do not like the apple watch. Many of my friends who use iPhones have commented about how they'd love my Ticwatch Pro 5 but do not want to change their phones to android.
