GENUINE VOLVO 31400692 Brake Booster Switch

Replacement item as shown. Works. Not much to add as far as the part goes. I do wish that Volvo had not made it of friable brittle material in the first place though - it did not last in the under-hood heat of Arizona. Detaching the hoses from the original part was a struggle. I ended up making small longitudinal cuts so that the hoses slipped from the barbs even when the hoses were pushed rather than pulled. My advice: make very small cuts to clear the first barb, try with effort, and move on to the 2nd and 3rd barb as really required. There is just enough hose to reach all three spigots provided that you are very conservative in those cuts to ends of the hoses, which will need to be cut perpendicularly to remove the separation cuts.

This part that I purchased definitely helped solve the break issue, but there was one more issue and I sold the car before I was able to accomplish the troubleshooting. Great products easy to install

installed in a 2005 S60 2.4L normally aspirated. This is the correct part and it works properly. This would also fit the 2009 S60 2.5T in the garage. Nice part. Vendor shipped quickly and nicely.

Wow..I work at a used dealership and have commercial accounts with many local parts stores and even the Volvo dealership..I got this part $22 cheaper than my cost and it was boxed from local Volvo dealership. 100% OE just make sure you order the right part number for your Volvo. Different models/trims/engines use different part #. But this was the right one for my 04 s60 2.4 n/a base model. But I did my homework on the right part before ordering. Call the dealer with your vin if you're not sure or go on a site that offers that info before ordering.

I ordered this part for my 2002 Volvo S80 to replace the existing Brake booster that caused a buzzing noise when my car was shut off. Based on the info given for the cars that this part would fit I purchased the part. When I received the part, it was 2x's the size of my existing brake booster. My fiance was apprehensive due to the vast variations in the specs of the existing Brake Booster switch that I had and the package said for a Nissan car but the package inside with the unit in it said Volvo on it. We installed it anyway based on once again, the information provided by this vendors compatibility information listed. My fiance's is a seasoned certified ASE mechanic and the noise still existed once he replaced the part. I emailed this vendor and explained that the part did not work and that the noise still existed and a person name Mike replied telling me "If the part elwas bigger, I must have ordered the wrong part". After I advised him what the packaging said and took a screenshot of the vehicle compatibility and sent it to him, he stated "they were a Volvo and Nissan parts dealership who ships from the same location and it was a genuine Volvo part". However, it may have been genuine Volvo part but like his aforementioned statement, it was probably the wrong part for a Volvo S80. After pointing out the facts of the packaging, sizing issues, I was offered no resolution in finding the correct Volvo part, Mike just curtly stated, "that was the right part (after he already stated if it was bigger it wasn't the correct one) and to return the item and "Have a good day". If this was the correct part it should have been the same specs of the previous part which was not the same and it should have resolvedmy issue as previous buyers said their (correct part I assume) did. They are also charging a restocking fee per their policy which I do not believe is ethical business practices since clearly this part is not for a 2002 VOLVO S80. I would suggest if you are purchasing a part to call them prior about if they will charge restocking fees if it's wrong part is sent.
