Can I read Korean books with this device?

Yes. Please note that unfortunately, the Korean language is not supported by the device and cannot be installed as the language of the user interface. You will need to install additional fonts to read Korean books on the device. Additional fonts are installed in TTF and OTF formats, and the TTC format from the SW version 6.4. To install, simply copy them to each of the following folders: system/fonts, and to system/adobe/fonts on the device’s internal memory. After adding the font, open the book and in the Settings select the font you have installed. IMPORTANT: These fonts can be applied only to text formats, such as: doc, docx, rtf, etc. IMPORTANT: If the device is connected to the PC and you cannot find the system folder, it is hidden. To get access to this folder, follow the steps below: 1. Open the root folder of internal memory of the device with the help of the File Manager and select the Service Tab in the upper part of the File Manager (if it is not visible by default, press ALT to call the Service Menu) – choose Folder Specifications. 2. In the pop-up window select the View Tab (the second tab in succession). 3. Find and untick the checkbox next to the "Hide protected system files and folders" option and tick the checkbox next to the “Show hidden files and folders" option. Confirm your choice with YES and APPLY. Attention! To get access to the hidden folders on the PocketBook device connected to a Windows 10 PC, proceed as follows: 1. Connect the device to the PC and double click to open it. 2. Go to the View tab - click on Options and then on Change folder and search options. 3. Folder options will pop up. Go to the View tab and then tick the checkbox next to the "Show hidden files, folders and drives" option. Also, untick the checkbox next to "Hide protected operating system files (Recommended)" option. Confirm your choice with YES and APPLY.

Can the touch screen be temporarily disabled?

It is possible to turn off the display while reading, but it is impossible to turn off the touchscreen completely, you cannot turn it off while surfing the web or changing settings. To use this function, press and hold the Backward button while reading a book. You can also set it to any other button, to do so select Settings - Personalize - Key Mapping - EPUB,FB2 and others - select the desired button, then go back and select PDF and DjVu - select the desired button. Blows the Kindle out of the water for ease of Use

I purchased a Kindle but all my eBooks were from Humble Bundle so external to the Amazon Store. On the Kindle none of the covers would show up and is a known bug that still hasn't been fixed in Years. So I purchased the PocketBook Basic Lux and so glad I did. I put my full eBook collection onto a 256GB SD card and all the covers show up perfectly. It's a device that does what it is good at flawlessly..

I love this PocketBook Basic Lux 4. The matte E-Ink screen really feels like paper, no glare even in bright sunlight. Combined with front lighting, I can read late into the night without strain. The physical page turn buttons are a huge plus — very intuitive and comfortable.

No permite el formato de kindle, el formato PDF se puede ver pero no admite ajuste de tamaño de letras y se ve muy chiquito. Probablemente en Europa si funcione bien.

My last bigger name e-reader didn't even last two years. I have a lot of hand pain and I need a nice light e-reader at the end of the day. I didn't want to spend big bucks in case it does suddenly again. I love this one - it's easy to use and set up, nice and light to hold, reads a ton of formats and I love the old school buttons as well as the swipes. The battery life also seems to be amazing (usually have wifi off and not backlit). I would buy another one of these next time over another brand.

Así es como lo define la receptora del regalo, ya que se iba cada noche a la cama con un tocho de 600 páginas...y ahora se lleva en el tamaño de una tablet pequeña ese tocho....y unos cientos más Está encantada con la comodidad de transporte, el funcionamiento fluido (teniendo en cuenta que es un pocketbook sencillo y de los más económicos...) y la facilidad de lectura. Ya no hay que tener la luz de la mesilla encendida, gracias a la luz de fondo incorporada en este ebook, ni preocuparse de quedarse dormida con las gafas puestas, gracias al cambio de tamaño de letra... Lo dicho... una maravilla. Y si lo encuentras en oferta... mejor aún
